  1. not sure what you are asking. maybe look at reviews on amazon? i thought the book was very knowledgeable and enjoyed the info in it. H and i found it esp fun to read together.
  2. good, cause when i get judgy, i'm way more bitchy.
  3. you probably want to post this in the correct forum.. like post op questions. you posted this as a reply to a post in the rants and raves section. but i would advise you to call your doctors office today.
  4. actually, i was challenging the idea that a "foodie" would use canned cream of anything! i like to get to know people better before i actually judge them. ????
  5. just wondering, how scared are you about the risk dying from being obese?
  6. i think there are plenty of better options, but everyone makes their own choices about what they put in their bodies.
  7. i am only on chapter 5 of wfg, but i do like her guidelines for eating.
  8. anyone read either of these books by geneen roth and want to discuss or comment?
  9. start your own support thread for noobs.
  10. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1572246766?pc_redir=1407573328&robot_redir=1 "50 ways to soothe yourself without food."
  11. anxiety can be worse after surgery if you have no other self soothing skills than eating. suddenly, you are required to cope without your biggest coping skill. some of us dont realize the depth to which we self medicated with food until after we cant. learning new ways to cope with anxiety and self soothe without food before surgery is an awesome idea. that way you have time to practice before hand.
  12. are you getting 60-70 grams of Protein in those shakes and getting an additional 64 ounces of Water? if you are getting all that protein and water in, you should not be physically hungry. your cravings are a mental state and you need to get it together and deal with them. only you cam get your own head together. no one can do that for you. though we can encourage you. if you are not getting in all your protein and water, then do so. that is the key to not being hungry. either way, only you can do this, and you can!
  13. if you are lucky and work at it, this surgery can give you a reset to allow you the space to develop a healthier relationship with food. one where it has an appropriate place in your life. but its not something that happens automatically. there are plenty of people who have this surgery who never address their food issues...
  14. super low fat diet and daily doses of milk thistle. no alcohol, minimize any drugs as much as possible. eat as clean as you can to rest the liver from having to detox you. good luck!
  15. i have never seen this show. but i do know that nothing, not a single thing you see on TV is real. no matter what it is, its edited and spun to have a certain affect on the viewers. so i would disregard it. your life is your reality. TV shows are fantasy.
  16. totally normal. start researching ways to soothe yourself without food. you just lost your biggest coping mechanism.
  17. thought this was a very interesting article. http://www.muscleforlife.com/how-to-get-rid-of-loose-skin-after-weight-loss/
  18. i was told no nuts or nut butter for 3 months. but my food plan is not specific to the sleeve. it was developed for bypass patients. so, it tends to be on the conservative side. *shrug*
  19. this is one of the pitfalls of going to a forum for support. no one here really knows what you need or what your true headspace is. no one here knows if you "broke" your sleeve or not. people respond how they respond. its not always what we need. but this happens irl too. and when we talk with close friends, or the doctor's office. under the best of circumstances, communication is is imperfect and difficult. online its even harder. dont waste your time being upset with what other people dont give you. go out and find it yourself or tell people exactly what you need and see if someone can give it to you. but no one on a forum can even guess. its too hard online.
  20. i drank milk, coconut water (plain), tea of all kinds, bone broth, and juiced veggies like cucumber and lettuce. i added greek yogurt to the milk for extra protein sometimes.
  21. how are you coping now?
  22. meh, canned cream of chicken soup? more like cream of chemical soup. ????
  23. i am glad you are having an endo. i hope you get some answers. give it a bit of time too. i had complications due to scar tissue in my belly. i was miserable. but after some tests and rehydration, the surgeon encouraged patience. and he was right! some people need extra time to heal.
  24. its easy to focus on other people as a way to distract yourself from making your own required changes. my MIL spent years telling me she would clean up her diet after she retired. now that she is retired, she keeps telling me that she cant eat healthy because her boyfriend has to keep crap in the house. as long as she keeps focusing on things outside herself, she's never going to take responsibility for making her own changes. the fact is, there are always opportunities for me to make bad decisions regarding eating. ALWAYS. we had pizza in the house this weekend. when i choose to eat it, i had 2 small pieces and STOPPED eating when i started to feel full. i could have made a different decision. every time i put food in my mouth i am making a choice. as long as i plan ahead on HOW to make good decisions i will be okay. i am not perfect. but 90% of the time i do. i do this by thinking ahead and preplanning. and realizing, no one else needs to make certain choices in order for me to do this. just me.
