  1. You have support in your life - you have us!
  2. My favorite is the AMP Wheybolic extreme 60 by GNC. It's a bodybuilder's formula and the usual serving is 3 scoops and 12oz of milk. i do two scoops and 8oz of milk. I recently discovered powdered Peanut Butter so i put two tablespoons in the mix and it tastes very close to a Reese's cup.
  3. My understanding is that it is okay to snack but not graze (that's different)). We're not talking a cheeseburger, but something sensible. A protein shake, or say string cheese wrapped in a thin slice of ham (100 cals or so).
  4. No worries, but ultimately it's our own doctor's opinions that matter. I'd tell him just to be safe and to avoid any unpleasant surprises.
  5. I apologize if I overlooked any of your posts asking questions or advice. I'm always happy to help but honestly if it's a chore to read it than I'm moving on.
  6. Welcome to VST! I was taken off of one of my high blood pressure meds when I was discharged. I was taken off the other one just yesterday. I haven't had a Metformin for diabetes since I entered the hospital. It was so cool to me to see my surgeon take me off of all these meds. Recovery? I was out of work for three weeks. To me, I recovered the first week and enjoyed the other two weeks of vacation. And the worst part of the first week was the first hour after surgery. I felt better by the minute after that. I lost 50lbs preop and 34 postop. My waist size before surgery was 62. As of this morning, it is 56. I wore a pair of pants to work this morning I had not been able to wear for over 10 years.
  7. And that is perfectly fine but the OP specifically said she was required to do a liquid diet.
  8. I asked and asked and was told repeatedly that it would be two weeks. Two weeks were up, I return to work, check emails, and find one from HR saying I was approved for 3 weeks! Honestly tho, it was 1 week of recovery and two weeks of vacation!
  9. You're in good company. I wasn't trying to restrict calories when I ordered, I just liked the taste of diet coke!
  10. I learned a lot from her - I don't regret those sessions a bit.
  11. Your NUT wasn't Katie at Forest Park, was she? (That's exactly what she told me and so far she's been right)

  13. It says it somewhere on VST, 6 months I think.
  14. Okay not exactly the kind of candy I had in mind when i saw the thread title pop up!
  15. and I was just like you. 50 years of habit to break! One of the first benefits i realized even before surgery is that i could taste much more depth in the food once i stopped drinking with meals.
  16. Cool! I love support groups and I am so happy I had to go to those monthly NUT sessions. I learned so much during those.
  17. Please stop weighing yourself everyday - EVERYONE'S weight teeters up and down a few lbs daily. You're just torturing yourself. Pick a weigh day once a week and stick to it but only that day.
  18. You can't let that go for a week! I let it go for two days recently and left the bathroom in tears when I finally went.
  19. It's not heroin , you won't go into withdrawals It's just water and your habit of drinking with meals is no different than the one I had to break. Or you can deal with the cranky waiter.
  20. Props to you for trying to quit - keep up the good work. I smoked for 20 years so quitting can be done.
  21.  I have gotten the funniest reactions when I tell waiters i don't want anything to drink. What I found that works is ordering a glass of water but letting it sit there. it doesn't cost anything and they won't come by to try to refill it if they see it's full.
  22. So many people here have successfully done their one or two week preop diet. without skirting it like you have. If you're looking for someone to tell you what you did is okay, i'm not that guy. Good lucking finding someone who is.
  23. Get yourself some unflavored Protein powder and unjury's chicken Soup flavor. Even after surgery I still love my sweet Protein drinks but they got old when it was all I could have. Chicken broth (with
