  1. I forgot to tell you something. I've been a member of 3 different gyms since 2005 and not one single time did anyone harass me, ridicule me, or ever say anything negative. What I have gotten several times is people saying things like "you're doing a great job" and "keep up the good work". Don't worry about looking like a fool - we look way sillier with a box of donuts on our laps complaining about our weight than we do at the gym doing something about it!
  2. Get on a treadmill, set it to a comfortable speed, and walk for 10 minutes. You're not aiming for a particular heartrate or sweating or anything else at this point. When you're finished go home. Pat yourself on the back for accomplishing this. Do this again tomorrow, and they day after, and everyday. In 30 days define your next goal (faster speed, more time, both, different machine, etc.) It doesn't have to be any more complicated than this at this point.
  3. Agreed with all of this - please get to a doctor today.
  4. This one right here: http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/80463-recipe-and-pic-mini-crustless-quiche/page__hl__quiche I loved it with the prosciutto, but you could probably do ham as well. I could only eat half at a time, and it's even good right out of the fridge.
  5. My surgeon considered milk a full liquid, so you could have had it weeks ago. (skim or no fat, tho)
  6. Perhaps this will help: The pre-op diet is NOT a punishment ... it's an opportunity. Personally, if I had to do it all over again I'd demand to do the 2 week preop diet as well. Why? Yes, the first four days were horrible - I asked the same question you did above and I seem to remember wanting to sue someone! On top of everything you're dealing with, I had allergy symptoms that would not go away. But I woke up on day 5 and the world didn't suck. I didn't feel miserable, the headaches were gone, and I didn't feel like I was going to die of starvation. What I didn't realize until later is that this prepared me for life after surgery. Yes there people who get to eat what they want until the last minute. Imagine them dealing with recovery AND what you're dealing with right now. I wouldn't trade places with them.

  8. What you should feel is grateful that this woman's true colors came out now instead of a time where you really needed her there for you. Consider this a blessing - now you are available for the woman who accepts and loves you for who you are now and who you will be.
  9. Hope you had a happy 4th as well!
  10. Agreed, these are awesome!
  11. WTG Amy, well done!
  12. You will drive yourself nuts weighing yourself everyday. Stop now before it becomes a habit. Our dysfunctional club has enough members.
  13. If you'd gained 10 pounds after being sleeved then you'd have reason to be concerned. 30 pounds in two weeks is phenomenal, be patient and give your body time to catch up.
  14. Relax, do what the NUT and surgeon told you to do and the weight will come off. There's no way some weight can't come off.
  15. You're an animal!
  16. <cough>week and two days</cough> We were running errands, the wife was hungry, and i figured i could get something soft where we went. I got chili without any of the available fixins. i only ate a few spoonfuls and took the rest home. my tummy made all kinds of noises but after half an hour I still hadn't thrown up. i started trying other soft foods after that. if you don't tolerate something today, try again in a week.
  17. I don't feel like it's a diet because the word "diet' implies something you do until you reach a desired result and then you stop doing it. I'm never getting back the 85% of my stomach that was removed but what it buys me is the life i haven't been able to live for over 10 years. For me, it's a small price.
  18. That's what i'm saying!
  19. Every time I read one of those posts you're talking about I feel thankful for my NUT, surgeon, and his team. They did such a great job of educating us and helping us get our attitudes in the right mindset for success.
