  1. i can be in either Dallas airport in less than 1 hour to pick you up! My surgeon encourages walking right out of surgery. Within an hour of being wheeled to my room i was walking a lap around the nurses' station. When i got home, I did a lap around the living room/dining room. A week after surgery I was on the treadmill at the gym. I took it easy that day and only had a small pain in my left side. I had no issues with the treadmill since. Listen to your body, it'll tell you if you're pushing too much. You're doing great, and I'm really proud of you.
  2. Hey YOU! Got my chips today! Was only able to eat half a serving because i had them with my morning egg salad (only able to eat half of this because of the chips!). If someone is missing their potato chips and must have something to crunch on, I highly recommend these.
  3. Better late than never - you go girl!
  4. i think that's the one I got in the hospital except mine was grape. I like Isopure ready to drink but it can have an aftertaste. I'm okay with it but others here don't like it.
  5. Congrats to you! Are you aware of the THINspiration support group meetings every month?
  6. I'm only 8 weeks out, but yes i still enjoy food! And it's fantastic not to have to eat so much of it to have an enjoyable time.
  7. i guess i'm not wired for sweets as much as others. As long as I don't have a single bite, i won't crave it. Now go get yourself an army if you intend to separate me from my caffeine!
  8. You got cotton bandages? Congrats, glad it went well for you!
  9. I think it happens. I got my insurance approval the week before my surgery.
  10. To someone with refined tastes who prefers Niebaum-Coppola I imagine Isopure is pretty ghetto-tasting
  11. Alpine punch is probably my favorite, followed by coconut. I was given grape in the hospital and it wasn't too bad.
  12. Are you talking about the RTD or the powders? I've not tried the Isopure powders but I'll be the first to admit there's a funky aftertaste in all the RTDs I've tried. I still like them because they're convenient.
  13. I lost 50lbs preop on the knowledge i gained from my NUT and less effort than I had put into weight loss in the past.
  14. This. Right. Here.
  15. My doctor's office uses one - if I didn't have the one above I'd get a Tanita.
  16. Oh stop! Honestly, when I bought it years ago I had considered the 500lb max model but saw myself exceeding that in the future.
  17. I had issues with hydration. After pumping 2 and a half IV bottles of fluid into me I still had no desire to urinate. The did an ultrasound of my bladder and it was bone dry. They put some sort of medicine in my IV and I was able to go later. I also had issues with oxygen (not sure why) so I had to wear a cannula for a little while until it came up. All in all, could have been worse. I don't recall anyone having these issues.
  18. This is the one I have http://www.amazon.com/Siltec-WS-1000L-High-Capacity-Scale/dp/B000235XFM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1374715648&sr=8-1&keywords=siltec+scales
  19. Between Feb 23 and May 28 - 50lbs Between May 28 and now - 43lbs Your mileage may vary. People's complications vary so much it's difficult to predict. For what it's worth, I had way less complications than I thought I would.
  20. Almost to your surgery date, you must be excited!
  21. Never hesitate to reach out to me anytime - if nothing else, I can try to make you laugh by sending you ridiculous threats via PM.
  22. if i had been up until 2am fighting food cravings then up at 7am on 5 hours of sleep i'd feel pretty pissed off too. I'm sure I'm not the only person on this board that looks up to you. You say you want to look like us? SURPRISE - we want to look like you! 70lbs is a HUGE accomplishment, we want that kind of success. Stop beating yourself up, you deserve better. You're an inspiration to people, start saying that in your head instead of that negative stuff that's in there now.
  23. Welcome! Good to have you here. Looks like you're from the Dallas area as well. I'm in Forney. Make sure you check out the Dallas support group mentioned here, it's only a few months old but growing. Been to a couple meetings and met some nice people.
