  1. The After the Cut Support Group is held the second and fourth Saturday of every month at Wilshire Baptist Church Room 1205L 4316 Abrams Road, Dallas, Texas 75214.
  2. No but I think you have to adjust protein upwards. MFP says I need to have 145g protein before exercise, and have seen it increase to 190 - 200 after exercise.
  3. Several! Check this list: http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/89017-dfw-area-weight-loss-surgery-support-groups-list/
  4. Just a reminder about tonight's support group at Methodist Hospital at 6pm in the Weiss Auditorium http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/90854-820-6pm-support-group-meeting-at-methodist-hospital-dallas-corner-of-beckley-and-colorado/
  5. I am *SO* happy to see this. I'm in the DFW area and belong to two support groups and looking at joining more. I *HIGHLY* recommend people get involved with groups in their area. Online is nice, but it doesn't copare to face-to-face. Best of luck to you Houston!
  6. I had something similar happen, no damage. Just adjust your protein upwards and carry on.
  7. Glad you liked it! There is a different support group meeting on Tuesday 8/20 at Methodist Hospital (on the corner of Colorado and Beckley) at 6pm in the Weiss Auditorium. It's run by two bariatric nurses (and former WLS patients) and while not as social as the one today, there's usually good information.
  8. Howdy from Forney - come out to one of our support groups. The one that gamergirl and cubbies mentioned was a good time today!
  9. Isopure Grape what they gave me while I was in the hospital.
  10. I enjoy watching the Zumba classes at my gym. And for the record, the skinny minnies are always the MINORITY.
  11. Not sure what part of DFW you're in, but if you get brave there is a beef jerky outlet just outside of the Bass Pro Shop (Outdoor World?) in Garland. I highly recommend trying the smoked buffalo if you haven't already.
  12. You're talking about Ostrim - THEY'RE AMAZING!
  13. There is a support group in Mansfield that I highly recommend - PM me for details.
  14. I read your paragraph as saying all sleevers who gained their weight back gained it because they only had the sleeve and only the sleeve combined with DS. Is that what you're trying to say?
  15. OMG I have discovered jerky made from different animals - alligator, ostrich, elk, buffalo, venison, and kangaroo. Definitely a fan!
  16. The Methodist Hospital Dallas Monthly Support Group Meeting is held every third Tuesday of the month at 6pm. This is the facility in Oak Cliff on the corner of Beckley and Colorado. Park in Garage B (validation available) and the meeting is held in the Weiss Auditorium next to Pavillion 2. Reply to this thread if you need further info.
  17. I had surgery on a Tuesday, I could have gone back to work the following Monday. I was on the treadmill at the gym a week after the day.
  18. WLS is probably not a good thing to have if a person doesn't like rules. Most of us were given rules of some sort - as doctors vary many of us differ in what we're expected to do. If you don't want to drink the water/fluids you were told to, that's your business. What concerns me is a noob reading what you've said and thinking "if she can disregard the rules, so can I". THAT bothers me.
  19. I've asked her to add 1 and tentatively 2. When you enter the restaurant, just tell them you're with Kevin's group and someone will lead you to the back room where we are. Looking forward to meeting both of you!
  20. Great attitude, keep it up!
