  1. The pain wasn't as bad as expected. The real issue I had was just adjusting to not eating and how to eat. I did not expect to struggle as much as I did. I am two weeks post op today and am just beginning to understand and ACCEPT the changes I have to make. I am beginning to understand my sleeve and how it works - and what my limits are. The first week felt like nothing had changed and the liquids did not fill me up. Now that I feel restriction I am having to work through how to manage it and still hit all the targets. The psychological changes were far more challenging than I anticipated so be prepared. (And I went into this fully aware but you really don't know until you are faced with it)
  2. So what proportion do you add it to? Are you adding it to one serving?
  3. I couldn't stomach the liquid vitamins and feel like I wasted a ton of money on them. I have bought the gummie chewables and have not had a problem. Those first couple of weeks you just have to be sure and chew well. I got all of them at Costco.
  4. If you have hypothyroid the synthroid should aid you weight loss as it will bump up your metabolism
  5. Is there anyway to set the daily goals specific to me? The goals that are automatically in place are way far off my actual targets.
  6. Are you drinking while eating?
  7. Did you speak to your surgeon?
  8. Thanks everyone. I don't think it's the tape - that's been gone five days now. I saw the doc yesterday and everything was great. It's not actually around the incisions but rather below them. Ill try Benadryl tonight and call tomorrow if its not better.
  9. If extensions are placed properly there should be no damage to your hair
  10. Thanks. I have one of those protein shots. Just been to scared to try it.
  11. I read that pork rinds make a good breading for meats. Just grind them up and go
  12. Thanks NtvTxn - I just started the pureed/soft foods phase - I am struggling with the idea of four small meals and balancing that we the required protein. Not a fan of the shakes so that makes it more difficult - also not drinking while eating - that is far tougher than I ever imagined. I'm sure I have few days to work out the kinks and get into a routine but looking at it now it seems like that will never happen.
  13. Woke up in the middle of the night with itching on my lower belly - below where the incisions are. This morning I looked in the mirror and I have three LARGE welts in the exact areas there was bruising after surgery. They are red and itch.....I started purees yesterday but stuck with food I was familiar with....nothing new. It's like an allergic reaction but it is strictly limited to my lower abdomen. Has anyone had anything like this? Don't know if I should be concerned or not. Haven't taken anything either - I assume a benadryl is ok?
  14. I am in the DFW area. Was sleeved on the 9th. Blindly finding my way through this
  15. My nutritionist specifically said if I felt the need to cheat to have a piece of fruit.
  16. I have used dry taco seasoning and mixed it with whatever I am eating. Refried beans etc. Still too cautious to try the real stuff
  17. Also I started a recipe book for myself. Believe it or not it helped - of course I have food for a week planned out now!
  18. I took some pinto beans added chicken broth blended and strained it. I actually started purée earlier than my doctor ordered but I needed something. Started w a scrambled egg and are it very slowly. The liquids were definitely the hardest phase. I REALLY struggled w it so I can relate. Luckily I had no issues w nausea gas etc but I felt ok moving ahead a couple of days early.
  19. I am a newbie but I worry about this. I could see going down this path and I didn't give up 85% of my stomach to do that. You can do this. You were strong enough to take the step. Now do the same and reset.
  20. So so sad. I have not heard that number yet.
  21. I was thinking this was just me. I feel like I am cheating in some way eating all the time like I'm not supposed to. And now that swelling and such is gone it feels even harder to get in. It seems like everything is backwards of what I thought it would be.
  22. I hope to be cleared Monday although I broke down and has a scrambled egg and later a spoon of hummus! HUGE difference. Doesn't feel like I am obsessing about clears.
