  5. I can't believe I am writing these words. After a year of fighting for the band I just found out I am approved. I had given up on the band and was in the process of going for the bypass. A little back ground I have Aetna. It is a self funded insurance plan.I had to hire a lawyer I went through all of my appeals. Practically begged my Husband job to overturn the decision but they did not want to set a precidence ( their words) and finally had a 3rd party review who overturned the denial. I have a tentitive surgery date of August 29th. Since i did all of my tests a year ago they have to find out if i have to re-do any. Ireally hope not. So keep fighting for what you want and deserve. It is all possible...
  6. I am still fighting to get my band . I even called up my state attorney general they can be pretty helpful depending on the ins. plan you have. And I would keep calling the attorney you hired and get some answers. Thats really rotten that she is so un helpful. you paid for the service. Good luck. Amy

  8. Hi Guys, Sorry it took so long for me to reply. I have been sick as a dog. Karen, Thanks for the info and support. I have a good feeling that this will all work out. My Lawyer said he really thinks I will get approval. I hope so. anyway , my son is yelling for me. Talk soon'Amy
  9. Wow ! It's great to see so many Islanders. I am using Dr. Geiss as well. I just love him. If I ever get approval I have Aetna and I have been trying to get the band for about 8 months now. and of course I just keep getting fatter. But if I do get approved by some lucky chance you will all be able to hear me yell it from the rooftops. Glad to see you guys are doing well with your bands.. I have heard it can take a bit of trial and error to find the sweet spot. I am terrified of having surgery. Was it bad? Amy

  12. Hi All, I mostly lurk on this site but if ever there was a time to post it seems now is a good one. I have no idea as to what went on here lately, but what I do know is I have learned so much from all of you. I have been so inspired by so many here. I have quietly shared in your triumphs and sorrows and prayed for you well being. I would hate for whatever happened to ruin such an amazing site like this. It is truly a godsend to me and others who are looking into, trying to get or have gotten the band. I hope I can continue to learn from all of you. And maybe now its time for me to start sharing more about my journey with all of you. Thanks for sharing, caring, encouraging and supporting us all on this weight loss journey. Amy
