  1. Hi Trisha and Want2beme! Reading their stories does help and gives you hope. I am in the same boat as ya'll. I go see the shrink (hehe..thought it was nicer than saying nut doctor) today and on Wednesday I see Dr. Grossbard. The shrink is suppose to fax my results over to him and if everything goes well, they are going to put me on that wonderful opti-fast. I am really not looking forward to that part, but it has to be done. To make things more interesting my mother is looking at having it done too. She is 5'3" and 388 lbs. By Thursday I will know when everything should happen...getting nervous, but it is worth it.
  2. Hi Marc, Thanks for asking all of those questions. I have been wanting to get the surgery done for some time now. I have finally got the money together and I will begin seeing the Dr. Grossbard this week. I am really looking forward to it. BTW...congratulations Eddie and Sean!!
  3. Hello Everyone! It is really nice to find a GLBT group (thread) for LapBand folk. I didn't think there was one out there for us. I have just started doing my research, and attended a seminar this week. I really like the thought of having the surgery done. I think I would do it in a heartbeat, but I need to make sure I have the money first. I think the benefits to my health will outweigh any costs. I am 31, 5'11” and 302 lbs and my BMI is 42. I would love to lose the weight so I can do more and get off some of these meds. Anways, I just wanted to drop and thank ya'll for sharing your information on here. Ya'll are a cool and funny bunch.
