    Insomnia anyone ?

YES. Never fails. My anxiety also picks up at night, kind of a viscous cycle.

28#! You are doing remarkable! Sorry about the pain, I can't even imagine, but soon enough they all 3 will be out! You are making wonderful progress! So happy for you as well! I wish I had tips on tolerating foods, I'm all new to that as well. Just trying to train myself to eat again, too. Maybe try going a little slower and taking smaller bites? Not really sure! If I come up with tips or tid bits - I will share lol! Glad today went well though & you are doing great! I don't have any tips for increasing liquids, but to constantly sip all day. It will feel like that's all you do is drink all day. Time yourself. Try to get one cup in every 15-30mins. TV commercials can actually help with this if you are home or haven't returned to work yet. Sip, sip, sip throughout commercials & when the show comes back on stop & then repeat the cycle. Alternate with walking! Protein shakes take about an hour and half to get down for me still. But I typically have been drinking two a day with purée meals (my MDs program weans you off of them) Keep up the good work ladies!

Hi! Getting in the Protein is hard - I found switching it up helps. I just went to my follow up today and they moved me to purées. I had puréed brisket tonight which went really well for me. Small bites, chewed it to more mush, and put a lot of juice/moisture in it. Tummy handled it really well. Although I felt satisfied way fast! I was so terrified and excited but my energy level already picked up a couple of notches. Maybe try liquids ice cold - I find I have better response with cold liquids and it helps me drink more. Makes me want to drink more. I add ice to my skim milk and Protein powder and that makes it taste better too. I also have to constantly drink all day, but I returned to 'normal sips' pretty fast & it doesn't cause pain or discomfort. Our stats aren't close, you are much further ahead of me but our weight loss seems relatively close at total! I started at 326#, day before surgery I was 303, today I weighed in at 292. I'm excited about this because overall it is 34 pounds in a month & I have not broke 300# in years. I dropped 11# from surgery date & 23 on the pre-op diet. I'm also 5'9" - age : 21. Keep up the good work and good luck with the fluids constantly sip, sip, sip. Maybe you can time yourself by TV commercials. Try to sip as much as you can during tv commercials, when your show comes back on, stop sipping until the next commercial comes on. Just get into a schedule of it. My tummy rumbles at everything though, but seems to be calming down lately. Hope this helps! & congrats on the weight loss! Be proud of your accomplishments!

    Bacon shell/fried cheese shell tacos!

Turkey bacon, I was thinking. Probably equivalent to pita bread or low carb wraps I'm sure.

Glad to hear you are doing good! & we are all here for uplifting support, this journey is undoubtedly NOT the easy way out! What were you were stats? Our weight loss may be relatively close? If you don't mind me asking.

That's so good, congratulations on making it! You will start seeing and reaping the benefits of your hard work and effort SOON! I lost 11 pounds in my first two weeks - everyone is different (I know it sounds cliche) but don't get discouraged you're still one pound closer than you were two weeks ago. I asked my doctor if that was normal, and he said that everyone is different and that he isn't even concerned about weight loss being an issue because he already knows that it's going to happen. Besides, it took me YEARS to get this way so I can't expect it to all fall off.

    OMG...so many food commercials

I've been thinking the same thing! Now that I don't have the liberty to pull up in the drive thru to order what I want I've seen Sonic come out with sweet potato tater tots, Taco Bell come out with the cooler ranch taco, and McDonald's come out with a steak, egg, and cheese breakfast wrap, and let me not mention the Pizza Hut commercials! They are literally making my mouth water!
  11. recipes section. Low carb & calories are listed on website. Very creative & healthy alternative.

    1 month today ! And insecure :(

Can't please everyone, so you might as well stop trying & start with pleasing número uno (number one - in Spanish just to lighten up the situation a little YOURSELF. I'm also a nurse, but being overweight has taught me that people who want to be apart of your life whether you're going through good or bad times are going to be there despite physical appearance, in fact, despite anything. Change is inevitable, if you can make change as positive as possible for you, screw what other people think. I also work iin a nursing home. I have about three people who went through WLS - one had the band, two had the bypass & now me with the sleeve. At first, I didn't tell people, but then - I realized to hell with what they think because this is for me & I'm the one who lives with the outcome of being overweight or becoming healthier & I made this decision solely based on what I felt was right for me & to amazement - the people who wanted to be apart of my life supported me & the people who didn't had their snooty comments, but I don't care because 1) I'm on a road to feeling better about myself & 2) those kind of people don't really need to be apart of my experience anyways for they will always have something negative to say about something/someone! Take pride in your accomplishment, you've came a great way just to let small minded people tear down your feeling of success! Good luck! & have a great day back at work!

Don't be afraid to reward yourself once you get closer to goal with a new outfit, jewelry, shoes, flowers, or even bubble bath! Those can be your new outlets!
  20. You look great BTW!

Try going regularly for a week. Start really light (30mins/day) and increase the next week just to see what kind of results you see. You may be surprised - not only that you could look at it as a social outing. I have a gym that is open 24 hours which is fabulous for me because I'm a 'bashful', 'shy', 'don't like people looking/noticing me' type of person - although I have about 4ish more weeks to get cleared to do any kind of strenuous activity besides light walking. You might be better motivated if you have a friend that goes along with you. Also, stress! Working out is an amazing stress reliever and you may meet a ton of people there. The way I always look at it is no matter how slow I go, I'm still going faster than everyone sitting on the couch. This kind of helps with my self esteem because I feel like I am trying and succeeding to do something about my problem. However, I don't particularly like this saying because not everyone who is overweight is 'lazy'. A lot of people have predisposing factors such as health issues, genetics that play a role in the shape of their body. Just remember - take things day by day, and each day that passes you are one step closer to not only your goal, but feeling better about yourself. Also, one more suggestion - if you like sports maybe you can join a local league for charity like for example - I played softball for 13 years before I even got over weight and then I quit and regret it and CANNOT wait to start playing again & for a good, local cause! Maybe you can look into something like that first, instead of the gym and then you can think of it as a social outing not necessarily the 'gym' because at this time that word sounds dreadful to me lol! Good luck! Hope this helps! You can do it! & that is a great weight loss! Be proud of yourself & your accomplishments!

No matter how much I seem to drink I still end up with a dry mouth and dry eyes when I wake up, bothers me.
