What's the pain like?
You guys are so awesome, thanks for all the replies! I can see there's really no way to know how it's going to go, everyone is different. I just hope I'm one of the lucky ones. I'm pretty wimpy when it comes to pain and this'll be my first real asleep surgery (I had a csection 5 yrs ago).

What's the pain like?
I've read a lot of "the first few days post op are rough" but I'm not sure what that means. I'm hoping to be sleeved in august and am really nervous about the pain when I wake up. Can anyone describe what their pain was like or if you had none?

Afraid I am not going to make it
I too am tired of waiting. It's been six months for me and hope to be sleeved next month. I also have the fear it somehow wont work out. I'm not yet approved by the insurance. I'm tired of the exhaustion, the sweating, the general misery with my appearance, etc. Let's just do this already!

What if I die?
It has crossed my mind lol. I know the chances are slim and I'm banking on being one of the lucky ones. But yeah it's definitely scary. I think the rewards outweigh the risks, in my case at least.

Swallowing pills post op
I take bipolar meds and my doc said I could take my pills like normal after surgery. I was surprised and happy about that!

Birth Control...
I will have to stop taking mine a month before and a month after to reduce chance of blood clots. Not happy about it but following orders none the less.

Yesterday
Sorry about your egd. I wasn't fully out either, I was so scared they had to give me a lot of meds to calm me down and I never fell asleep. Glad it's over for you now and you had good results!

surgery on Wednesday!
Good luck and speedy recovery! I'm preop so can't help with surgery experience. I'm not due to go in until end of July.

Great news!

trigger foods
Sweets for me too. I plan to just stay away from them or I can't stop. I'm doing pretty good avoiding them now preop but I do eat birthday cake figuring I probably won't be eating it for awhile postop. I think postop our cravings should be less intense (or so I'm hoping!)

My questions did u ask the surgion

Sounds terrible! Glad you are feeling better.

EGD at noon
Yeah the iv sucked. I was awake but the meds made me very calm. You just have to close your eyes and it'll be ok. I felt a couple inside pokes but it didn't hurt. It was really quick I promise. I didn't feel it coming out either. The stuff they spray in your throat numbs it pretty good. Good luck and try not to worry. I was scared to death and I did ok, you will too

EGD at noon
I know, I'll probably cry up until they knock me out for the sleeve lol.

EGD at noon
Just had my endoscopy. Doing well just tired. Had twilight anesthesia. Wasn't too bad at all. I was just super scared during the prep and cried the whole time from my anxiety. Not my finest moments but it was all for nothing. No need to be afraid it was easy and over real quick.

EGD at noon
Thank you all for sharing your experience, makes me less nervous about tomorrow.

Were/are any of you OBSESSED preop?
Obsessed is an understatement! Good lord I wish I could chill out and stop researching every last detail. But hey at least I'm informed and know what I'm getting myself into.
