    Double posting my mistake

Band2sleever, please send me the URLs for both posts. If I can't fix it, I will contact someone who can fix it. Thanks, Rib
  2. I had two the next day after surgery. My doctor performs 2 leak tests on revision patients. I had to first drink some clear yellow liquid. It wasn't bad and then they took some pictures using the fluoroscope. I got to see my stomach post-op and that was amazing to see. Once this was finished I went back to my room and got blue ice chips. This blue is smurf blue. After 90 minutes there was no blue dye in my drain, so I was given permission to begin drinking. I had heard and read such horrible things about the test, and was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't bad at all. Good luck to you on your upcoming surgery.

    February 2014 Fitness Challeng

How is everyone doing with their challenge? I am at 30 miles of walking and 32 with riding. My original goal was 50 walking and 75 riding. I have 20 miles to walk and 43 to ride. I plan on riding again today. We have had a couple days of great weather. It is supposed to rain tomorrow and then turn cold. The remainder of my riding miles will most likely be inside.

    Catheter for surgery?

As others have stated, I had a catheter put in during surgery, and it was taken out the next day. No problems or pain from having it in.
  7. I use Torani and DaVinci sugar free syrups. They can vary the flavors a lot. p.s. Cubs win. I am a die-hard Cards fan.

The morning for me. I know that I don't have a difference due to clothes, water or food. For me it is the most consistent.

    St. Patrick's Day Challenge

I am up a few pounds. Starting at 181. Goal on St. Patrick's day is 172 or 170.
  10. Hi Sleevesup, i found after my surgery for the first week I had a lot of energy. I got out, I walked it was great. Ten days after my sleeve surgery I had another non-sleeve surgical procedure. After the second procedure my energy level was much lower. I also started working from home the remainder of that week half days. I returned to work the following week and was tired, but not bad. Later that week I got a cold which contributed to the low energy. By one month post surgery my energy levels had returned to normal. I have not really experienced any taste changes or different cravings except before surgery, I loved plain Water. After surgery for a while I could not stand the taste of plain water and had to use koolaid drops to flavor it. I now like plain water again, and on occasion use my koolaid drops.
  11. Happy Valentine's Day.

Gym: 5 days this week (two days off with Shingles) Miles: 3.5 Walking 8.0 Bike 22.2. Elliptical Weight Circuit: Legs. 1 day Shingles, ouch. Sorry. Hope you are feeling better. I have gotten in another 7 miles. This weekend is supposed to be warmer so hoping to get out and ride my bike. I need bike miles and definitely prefer outdoor riding as to a stationary bike. Think warm and sun shine.

Mary. I am so sick of snow and cold also. We had it earlier this week and it's still around since it has not been warm enough to melt.

I walked in the middle of a highway today across the Mississippi River and wasn't worried about getting hit by a car. Today was the opening ceremony of the Stan Musial Bridge. It was open to the pubic today from noon to 4 before it opens to traffic tomorrow. It was open to bicycles also but it snowed this morning and was wet. I didn't feel it was safe to ride my bike so I waked instead. It was a lot of fun. It is a very strange feeling to walk on a highway especially when you are going in the opposite traffic flow. A couple years back when they did work on a highway in the area, they opened it up to cyclists and pedestrian traffic. I participated in that also. It is such a unique opportunity, you have to take advantage of them when they happen.

Everyone has great goals for this month. MacMan, glad to see you're well enough to resume exercise. Fiddle, congrats on your 50 unassisted pullups. Globe, good luck with your "real pushups". I know for me that would be a big challenge. That will be a goal for me down the road. So far I have 7 miles walking this month out of 50 miles and 0 miles riding my bike out of 75.

Effect of Fast Food on your BMI

I am also 5'5" and at 170 your BMI is not 40 it is 28.3 which is in the overweight category. In spite of this, I still thought it was an interesting article.

Mary, I'm sure you exercised more in January than you did the month before. This is an opportunity to keep improving. My friend gets some type of chocolate pretzels and calls them "evil". She says they're addictive.

  23. Hi, I had an odd experience last week, and I have never experienced this before in the 6 1/2 years I have had weight loss surgery. I went to an oral surgeon for TMJ pain, and after examining me he told me he was going to prescribe NSAIDs. I told him I could not take them. He proceeded to ask me why and I told him I had weight loss surgery. Then he asked me which doctor told me this and my reply was my bariatric doctor. He then tells me, "I have no options for you, the only recourse I could offer you is NSAIDs and you negated that by having weight loss surgery." This phrase was repeated a total of three times in my meeting with him. I knew I would not be seeing him again since he said there was nothing he could do for me. It was weird because I felt he was criticizing or chastising me for having undergone weight loss surgery. Am I reading too much into this, or have you ever experienced something similar?
