    Any March Sleevers?

On the downward side now. Only six more days to the beginning of my new life. I can't wait. So excited. Can't come soon enough for me. I am sure my other March 7th sisters and brothers feel the same way. Here we go.

    Any March Sleevers?

Hello my March Sleeve family, Well, one week from today and I begin my new life. Getting nervous now. I am doing great on the liquid diet, but it has not been easy. I go to bed early every night because otherwise I am afraid I may graze an I don't want to do that. Naturally I am losing weight quickly right now. LOL Hope the doc doen't tell me I am doing so well I need to just continue drinking. I may have to slap him. LOLOL I am looking forward to the next few days as I prep for the big day. My goal is to be able to do the Disney Princess Half Marathon in 2014. Whoo Whoo. Trainer is standing by. LOL Have a great day everybody,

    Any March Sleevers?

Hi Everybody, Well, today is my 61st birthday and I am starting day 4 of the liquid. I am really struggling and trying to figure out how I can make it 8 more days. In fact, I had to break by having a banana last night. I was so hungry and just had to have it. It definitely helped and I will continue from here. I beat myself up over it, but it was just that I had to have something and I figured a banana was better than something else. I have lost 5 lbs these last four days so I know things are going well. I am back on it and will continue without beating myself up. That damn head hunger is definitely beating me up. Anyway, I plan to have a good day and not go out to dinner with hubby or have any cake. It will be a difficult birthday for sure, but I keep thinking about next year. I have a lot to keep my mind occupied all day with church, rehersals and a play audition so I should be ok. Have a great and healthy day everyone.

    Any March Sleevers?

Hi Guys, I am so struggling today. I am in day three of the pre-op liquid diet and it is getting to me. Someone said it gets better after day 3, but I am truly struggling today. I am on my fourth Protein shake and it seems nothing is helping. Other than the shakes I have had some Jello and a popsicle. I hope I can make it another 11 days. It is scaring me now. I try to keep busy and not think about it, but on a gloomy Saturday it is not an easy feat. How do others do it?

    Progress - 4 Months Out

Your advice and transformation is marvelous Barbi. I am still pre-op with surgury in 12 days. I am so excited, it is all I can think about. REading what you and others have said here is helping me a lot. Trying to get through the liquid phase. Not easy, but I am working it.

    First day after surgery

Congrats Dani. Can't wait for mine.
  8. To say that I am doing the happy dance is an understatement. Tomorrow is day one of my pre-op liquid diet. Whoo Whoo. Not for the liquid diet, but that I am two weeks away from getting sleeved. It blows me away that my dream of being healthy is finally coming to fruition. I have been overweight for over 20 years when I get right down to it. It has been a very horrid experience at times. This disease is treated so differently than anything else in the world. The hatred that I had for myself was devastating. Every time I lost a job, every time I lost an opportunity for something I dreamed of, every time I thought of going on a trip, I tried to lose weight, but my system would not allow me to do that. Between drugs I was taking, to the addiction I lived with daily (food adiction) it just never seemed to get any better. No matter how hard I tried, it wouldn't work so I would suffer in silence. For once in my life everything is sunny. I was pre-approved for starters four months ago. I went through everything that had to be done. Got all the approvals, did all the paperwork and got a pre surgery date of April 18th. Then a miraclehappened, I ws told that my insurance no longer required six months of dietician visits to be approved. My paperwork was turned in on February 12th, insurance approced on the 15th and now I am scheduled on March 7th. In addition my out of pocket has dropped by $400! Come on folks, nothing like that happens to me. It must be right. Today I technically had my last supper so to speak. The office had lunch for everyone and since my birthday is this Sunday I can't have cake so I had my cake, and meatballs and potatoes and gravy and everyhting I love for one last time. Tomorrow is day one of the liquid and I will make sure in my mind it is like a gourmet meal. :-) Oh and did I say I am excited. My hubby will finally have a thin wife and I will be able to see my grandchildren graduate from high school. What could be more perfect than that? I will be checking in daily from this point on so I can record how things are going. Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my perfect life!

    Day Two Pre-Op

Source: Any March Sleevers? Didn't want to retype the above and saw I could blog it from the message. I truly am feeling pretty good. Scale was down three lbs this morning. I know that being on a total liquid diet that I am bound to lose a lot in this two weeks. The end result is what I am anxious for. I have been working out to make the surgery easier too. I am up to 30 minutes on the treadmill working toward 45 minutes before surgery. Who knows, maybe I will be running a bit by then. Since I am older I know that my skin is not going to spring back so I have to do what I can to help it along so it won't be so dang bad. Every day I smile I little bigger. I know this is going to be an awesome adventure and I can't wait for March 7th to get here. Upward and downward. :-)

    Any March Sleevers?

Just started on day two of the liquid diet and so far so good. I am keeping a positive outlook so it feels better. Seems like twelve more days of this is impossible, but I put on a blouse my hubby gave me for Christmas for he first time this morning and said to myself, I can do this. It is only for two weeks. After the surgery I am sure I won't even think about it. I am hyped and ready. BRING IT ON!!!!! :-)

    Alcohol

I am pre-op (in liquid phase) and my Dr. insists on no alcohol for a year. I don't plan on touching a drop until that time and then it will be very moderate. Alcohol has so much sugar in it in all forms. Not for this chick for all the money sunk into this surgery. (smile)
  12. Hi All, I am so excited I can hardly breath. My surgery was previously set for April 16th. Today I was informed I have been approved by insurance and date bumped up to March 7th. I start the liquid diet in six days. I am just beside myself. I seriously didn't expect to be approved. Don't ask me why...guess it is just my luck, but today when I got the call, I started crying. I have wanted this for so long and I did everything I was told. I would love it if there are any other March 7th sleevers that would like a support companion as we go through this journey together. Good luck to us all. Major hugs of excitement. Kriss

    Any March Sleevers?

Started liquid diet this morning. So far so good. Brain is getting freaky on me though. LOL Had orange cream meal replacement with coconut milk and it is not half bad. Lots of water. Don't feel hungry at all. Just those nagging brain waves that tell me I need to snack. Sorry buster, you lose, I win. LOLI have had two shakes so far. Going to have some beef broth at lunch with some jello. I am sure after three days it will be easy peasy,,,,,or at least I hope. Also got back on the treadmill this morning and am working up to 45 minutes before surgery. Looking forward to getting this ON!!!!!

    Day One Pre-Op Diet

So far so good. I got up at 5am and did 20 minutes on my treadmill at level 3 with a 2 incline. Goal is to work up to 45 minutes before surgery. I also made arrangements with my trainer to work with me after surgery to minimize the saggy skin. Bless her heart, she is only charging me $30 a week. My goal is to run a 5k, then a 10k, then a 1/2 marathon. Of course this will take lots of time, but I am determined. This morning is going well so far. Seems strange that I am not hungry. I had my first protein meal at 6am and will have my second at 9. It was orange cream flavored and I mixed it with Almond Milk. YUM. Been sucking down the water too. Since I can have Crystal Light with my water I mixes Sunrise Orange with it and it is delish. Brought some beef broth and jello with me to work so I will have some variety throughout the day with my five protein shakes. I am not stupid to not know that this is not going to be easy, but like anything else, once I get through the third day I will be on zoom. This means too much to me to screw up now. Follow up - it is not 420 pm and I am almost done with day 1. whoo whoo. My favorite part of the day was the jello. It gave me something to chew on. LOVED IT!! I think if I keep up my upbeat attitude it will go swimmingly to the end. I sure do hope so anyway. Downward here I come.

    Any March Sleevers?

YeppersJen and Court. I start the liquid diet tomorrow and I know I can do it because I want this so badly. I have beem discriminated against for so many years. One thing I know for sure and I am sure everyone here will agree with me on is this....I will NEVER treat an overweight person the way I have been treated. It is horrifying how we lose jobs, lose opportunities becauser of our disease. NO one looks at the inside to see what is there. It is a darn crying shame and believe me I have done a lot of that..crying that is. Now I am smiling all over myself, because I know I am doing this for me and if I can help other people in the process I am here. We are all going to be such stars. :-)

    Any March Sleevers?

I am so excited right now, I can hardly breathe. Everything is going so well. I start the liquid diet tomorrow morning in prep for my March 7th surgery. THe exciting part is I didn't know what my out of pocket was going to be. With BCBS my portion was sait to be $1,250 so that was what I was preparing for. Since this is so early in the year, I had to deductables so I was told to expect the max. Well the finance guy just called me and said it is only going to be $806!!! Apparently the hospital is dealing with BCBS on some deals so the hospital stay is super cheap right now. Can we say KRISS IS DOING THE HAPPY DANCE BIG TIME??? Whoo Whoo. You have no idea what good news this is. Having $400 as a backup is great!. My preop appointment is the 25th, day after my birthday. I am so jazzed that the liquid diet is going to be tasting like a freaking gormet meal every day. LOLOL Life is good.

    Any March Sleevers?

Miss Fae, if this is going to work for you, you seriosly need to change your outlook. Dont think of anyone else but yourself. You are doing this for yourself. Who gives a rip what anyone else thinks. You are worth this and will do fantastic if you have a good feeling and have self compassion. I haven't even started my liquid yet (tomorrow is day one for me YAY) and already I am on cloud 9. I took a big step yesterday and informed my office of 7 what I was doing on March 7th. It was a breakthrough moment for me. Prior to that I was embarrassed that I was going this route, but after I said it, it was like I grew taller. This is my life and I am making it better for my family and myself, but mostly for myself. If they can't handle it, well then they must be jealous that I have the guts to do this. Give yourself a break girl, smile all over yourself, and enjoy the new you as it emerges over the next year. Don't let anyone bring you down, least of all yourself. Be super proud that YOU made this decision. Good luck Sweetie.

    Any March Sleevers?

Hi Jody, I am a March 7th sleever too and I can so relate to your post. I love to run as well. I started learning to run about two years ago, but of course the weight has kept me from it so I walk a lot of 5k's. My goal is to not be dead last as I have been due to my weight problems. Good luck to both of us as we move on. Bring on the liquid diet in two days. Whoo Whoo

    Any March Sleevers?

BigDaddy, thanks for the list. I am hoping I can hook up with the other 7th sleevers. Thanks for your hard work on that list.
  20. Hi Everybody, You have no idea how glad I am to have found this site. I am pre-op scheduled to be sleeved on April 16th or earlier. I am almost done with all the stuff needed to submit to insurance and if all goes well, I may be sleeved in March, but at the latest April 16th. I am so excited and nervous at the same time. This will be something great for me. I have been overweight for over 20 years. It's horrifying to me and I need this to eliminate a lot of problems in my life. It is so great to read these posts about like people and if I could I would put a great big hug around everyone here. I will be posting as things are prepping and also my successes after the sleeve. I have questions I will probably be posting too. So glad I am here, Kriss

    New Here and Pre-Op

I'M APPROVED! I'M APPROVED!!! Got the call last Thursday. I have been rescheduled to March 7th. Only two weeks and four days. I start the liquid diet on the 21st FOUR DAYS!! I am beside myself. I seriously did not think insurance would approve it. I am not a very optimistic person sometimes. Something always happens to burst my bubble. But not this time. I have been gathering what I will need for the liquid diet. I am going to rock this thing. Can't wait for Thursday. I know that sounds crazy, but anything to prep me for the surgery I will do in spades. Look out world, I'm comin' tra la tra la
  22. Well, I only have 5 more days before I start my liquid diet so was at Kroger today and did some stock up. I made myself a separate shelf in my kitchen for my stuff so I won't be tempted to look at the other stuff my family is eating. I bought a box of beef, chicken and veggie broth, two boxes of coconut milk and my greatest find was 2 dozen surgarfree Gelatin Snacks for the price it would have cost me for 1 dozen. SCORE! LOL I had already bought some Protein shake mix so right now I am ready and raring to go. So excited. As each day inches closer I know I will be able to handle this. I am getting myself psyced up for it. Whoo Whoo March 7 surgery here I come.

    Any March Sleevers?

Thanks everybody. I think we have a good group of March sleevers. This is going to be fun. Matt I agree that when you get the diet stuff it truly makes it real. I am going to be on Fusion I think for my protein drinks. I already did a couple days of testing to see if I can handle this and it was ok. I know that two weeks is a far cry from two days, but I have wanted this for so long and I know I will tolerate it. It is going to be a long six days till start. LOLOL
  24. WOW congratulations to you to gal. Can't wait to hear how you do and watch your success. I will have my first protein drink on the 21st in toast to your success. :-)
