  1. I know 399 still seems like a lot but I am very happy!! I was 475 when I started this journey in September of 2012. On my date of surgery 1/28 I was 450 and as of today I am down to 399!! There were times in the beginning I didn't think this was a good idea, but I am at the point now where I am getting into a rhythm and am starting to make better choices on what I should eat. It seems I can handle almost anything in my new stomach so far with what I tried except mashed potatoes, I've tried them twice each time I get so sick. I still can't have bread, Pasta, rice, or steak for another 3 months but besides that my doctor has given the go ahead on everything else. It's still hard for me to tell when I am full due to eating to fast, but I am learning and getting better.

  2. Hey you made it two weeks without breaking down!! I made it two days and if it wasn't for this site and the people here I would probably still be broken down. I was sleeved on 1/28 and by day two I couldn't believe I had done this too myself. Now that I am about 5 weeks out, I am doing great! I am down over 45lbs since surgery and around 75lbs since I started this process. Also it's helping my family as well. I do most the cooking and now that I can have limited real food again I make everything with low fat ingredients and healthy foods. I hope everything gets better for you, if you need people to rant too we are here!

  3. Well I started this in September of 2012 at 475lbs. I got sleeved on 1/28 and I was at 450lbs. As of 2/28 I was at 405lbs!! For the most part this is going great. I am staying in-between 500-700 calories a day. I almost always get all my Protein and fluids everyday, but today I made my first mistake. I am only supposed to start solid food on 3/11, but I was making diner for my family and I figured what would a few days early hurt if I chew real well. So I got my self a small plate out the cupboard and put a little mashed potatoes on it and a 2oz piece of very lightly breaded chicken I made homemade. Well I won't be doing that again any time soon. I spent the next 20min being violently ill. I don't know if I ate too fast or if I ate too much, or I just wasn't ready for the food. Either way I am not doing that again!!

  4. I am on the purée stage right now, and I can't do it. I've been sticking to eggs, refried Beans, and other soft stuff. I tried one thing puréed and I couldn't get past the first spoonful. It just looked to gross to eat. And it tasted nothing like it usually does. But thankfully to this site I've found lots of soft things and some great recipes for food I can eat.
