  1. I can't help but to throw my two cents in to this conversation. When I first started researching I really felt like Dr Kelly was a good choice for me. Then I started to read all the drama on the boards and started to have doubts. I was going to pick a different surgeon all because of this coordinator BS when finally I decided to listen to my gut from the start and booked with Dr. Kelly. My surgery was at Oasis and the care was second to none. And as for Dr Kelly, there are not enough words to describe how amazing he is. Not only is he a phenomenal surgeon, he is one of the most genuine and caring people I have ever met. He spends so much time with his patients not just to answer questions but on a personal level as if you've been friends for years. That kind of demeanor can not be bought and can make a huge difference when you are heading into the unknown so to speak. I can't recommend him enough.
  2. Wow, you're doing awesome!
  3. I'm late with checking in but I made my goal. 252, actually.
  4. We're practically twins. I was sleeved on the 21, down 28 total, 12 were pre-op. Only difference is I need to be more grateful and optimistic like you. I finally weighed myself today after two weeks and not a change in scale, I've been bummed all day about it.
  5. Yeah I decided to try that after reading about it on here. I just have a small piece once or twice a day but it also helps me to mentally to feel a little more normal. I have to say its strange that I can get it down since even some purees still make me puke.
  6. Me too! It's really frustrating. However I did discover the other day that I xan get beef jerky down without issue and thank god because I need some energy!
  7. I'm 5 weeks out and have only lost 28 lbs, 12 which were on my 2 week pre-op diet. I'm feeling pretty bummed about such a minimal loss... how does everyone else pull such huge numbers their first couple months???

    4 days out... Frustrated

I also hate jello, even before surgery so I've been living off water and the occasional apple juice for 3 weeks. I did start drinking a bit of Gatorade which I also don't like post surgery but half a bottle is more than enough for me each day - blech! I'm not going to lie, because of how exhausted I am I had a two spoons of ceviche today, and 3 bites of chicken. I chewed it till it was mush in my mouth because I was worried about it making me sick but I was desperate for energy. It didn't help though, I'm about to take a nap. Lol
  9. I would not let the last posters comments worry any of you. I live in Mexico and they are NOT that picky about the documents with different names. The claims are that they will be but it never happens. Also it seems that the drivers taking everyone back and forth are very well versed in this process and no one without a passport has seemed to have a problem recently. I would question your coordinator and then trust what they say, this do they daily.

    Is this normal?

Ok thanks for letting me know. Most people seem to lose a lot of weight their first week and I just lost the weight I gained from the IV fluids during surgery and feeling this bloated makes me feel like I'm never going to go down on the scale! Not to mention its very uncomfortable. I have a couple more days before I start my protein drinks but I've been managing to get my 64 oz of fluids a day down, however, that makes me feel even more bloated. Hopefully I'm like ya'll and feeling better by next week!
