  1. Hey girls and (maybe some guys?) =) I'm still feeling pretty great, considering. =) Last night I ate a sugar-free popsicle and NEVER AGAIN. I had horrible, painful gas in my stomach and everywhere else. Definitely not worth it, especially since I haven't had too many gas issues. I think one of my steristrips has already fallen off, but I'm not sure. Nine left and then I'll be soooooo thrilled! They are starting to get a little itchy. I still can't believe I'm doing so well. I've lost fourteen pounds since Monday, yay!, and as my stomach shrinks a little the pain in the port area is lessening. I think it's because my stomach is so gross, big and hangy that it's pulling on the port when I sit up or walk. I'm actually walking around holding my stomach up like I'm holding a baby, so the pain won't be as bad. I'm soooo sexy. lol I'm not getting enough liquids or Fiber in but I'm increasing it daily. I'm having trouble with taking drinks that are too big so today I finally resorted to setting a timer and only taking a sip every three minutes. Otherwise my stomach really lets me know it isn't happy. I still can't believe how well I'm doing and how great I feel! I was scheduled to go back to work on Monday but thanks to snow days this week I won't have to go back until next Thursday. I'm really grateful for those extra days because I'm not sure I'd be ready by Monday. What are you guys eating? Believe it or not, I've stuck to my doctor's post-op diet to the letter. I've been eating half cups of cream Soup and Protein drinks. I also ate some Jell-O. I've been putting Liquafiber in my Protein Drinks and flavored waters but I still haven't had a BM since the surgery. I'm not feeling bloated or constipated yet though so I'm not worried. I'm actually able to sleep/lie on my stomach already as long as I have a soft blanket under my belly. Ok, enough about me! lol I just wanted to give you all the scoop to see if any of you are going through the same things.
  2. I'm sorry about the sliming but wow, you are melting!!! That's awesome! Are you cutting your pills? My pharmacist told me to cut mine in fourths. See if that helps if you aren't doing it already.
  3. I'm glad you're doing better. Hang in there!
  4. You lucky dog! I'm going to be in bandster hell a lot longer than you were because my surgeon won't even DISCUSS fills until your weight loss has dropped to less than two pounds a week. That could be months of white knuckling on my part! I hope you don't have any sliming or PBing episodes after this first fill! Good luck!
  5. No, I haven't had any shoulder pain. My pain yesterday, (third day) seemed like it was the worst of all. Probably because the port site is getting sorer and I've been backing off the pain meds. It's just a feeling in my stomach of a. having done a hundred crunches and b. having eaten a gigantic Thanksgiving feast. That's the extent of my pain so far.
  6. Just think how excited you'll be in a few months when you don't have to take ANY diabetes or blood pressure meds! I'm happy for you!
  7. I'm glad you're doing OK now and sorry about your bad experience! Now we can just start melting together! =)
  8. Hey Rhapsody, I'm so glad that you are doing so well. I'm very excited about all of the success we are experiencing! =)
  9. That is so exciting! I won't be entering Onederland until this time next year...IF I'm lucky, so I'm thrilled for you!
  10. I finally typed out my story on a new thread. Thank the LORD and all of you for your prayers, everything went well. I'm so excited about this new life!!
  11. Um yeah, big ouch. I've been coughing a lot since this morning and it's no fun. It really isn't excruciating, but I definitely moan when I do it! I hope your cold ends soon!
  12. Hey guys, I survived! =) I was banded on Monday and cannot believe how easy everything has been! Thank you LORD!!!!!!!! Of course I'm sore, around the port area especially, and I'm having some gas and burping issues but hey...I'm doing great! I'm so grateful that I didn't have any complications considering the fact that I did not follow the pre-op diet. :smile2: God was very merciful to me. I had to spend the night even though things went great because my surgeon changed his policy a month ago. Now everyone has to stay one night. The hospital I went to was AMAZING, from the first valet parking attendant to the last and every orderly, nurse, and doctor in-between, I had a top-notch experience. I'm so grateful!!!! I did have one pretty severe gagging/dry heaving incident this morning around 4am but when it passed I ate some banana baby food and felt better. I think it just happened because I was hungry and didn't realize it. I did call my surgeon's office and ask for a prescription for some anti-nausea meds though, just in case it happens again. I'll pick it up tomorrow but hopefully I won't need it! I'm off to read more posts now and I sure hope everyone else is doing as well as I am! :tongue2:
  13. I just started to get nervous. Just now. I was reading a thread about someone's liver that was so big they had to close them up and well...since I've cheated like a scummy dog on my pre-op diet....I'm terrified this will happen to me. I know I deserve it, but I'm also praying for God's mercy on this one! I can't help but be amazed at all the people here with compulsive eating issues that can stick to the pre-op diet like pros. I must be the worst of the worst of the worst of the overeaters since I can't even stay on a diet for a day. Please Lord, PLEASE let the band help me!!!!
  14. Have you even had your first fill yet? It sounds like you are ready for your first fill! Tell your doc everything you just told us and good luck!
  15. Thank you wonderful ladies! I've been too busy to get nervous yet but it might kick in tonight as I'm trying to sleep. I don't have to be at the hospital until 11:30 in the morning. I've been waiting for this day since MAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Well, I have great news! Thank you for the prayers because it looks like everything is a go! WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My hospital arrival time is 11:30 on Monday and I'm so excited! Not nervous yet but I can feel it creeping up on me. =) Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!!
  17. I'm scheduled for the 25th too!!!! *shivers in anticipation*
  18. I doubt I'll be prancing around in them but you can bet I'll be BUYING them! =)
  19. I ordered mine from evitamins.com I ordered about $120 worth I loved it so much. I was thrilled to finally find something I liked. The only problem is that I still haven't been banded and I'm almost out of the drinks! I really think you'll love it if you like flavored coffees.
  20. Thank you guys! I love this place. =) One new thing that may be in my favor is that tomorrow is going to be snowy and bad so I might not be able to make the trip. If I have to go later in the week I'll have more time to get better! =)
  21. I'm excited for you!!!! Thanks for the warning about the pain, also. I have a high tolerance for pain too so I'm trying to prepare myself. *shudders*
  22. Potentially positive news... I just talked to my surgeon's nurse and told her how sick I am and asked if it was worth my time to go for the chest x-ray tomorrow. She said that he rarely, RARELY cancels a surgery unless the patient has a high fever. That's encouraging news. I'll keep you posted! Keep praying!
  23. jnb, I hate to be the devil on your shoulder but I can recommend a terrific, great tasting drink that has a little caffeine in it. It's called AchievOne and it's delicious!!! It has zero fat, 120 calories per drink, 5 carbs and 20 grams of protein. And it's DELICIOUS! I don't even like coffee but I love these drinks. =)
  24. Oh man, you know...the same thing is going to happen to me! When I was in junior high all I did was complain about my huge nose. The fatter I got the less I noticed. LOL Oh well, you definitely are GORGEOUS with your "broken nose". lol I'm glad you have a good sense of humor!
  25. I'm so glad you are rocking your band! =) One way I LOVE cottage cheese is with a packet of Splenda and some Jello. It is like eating a big fattening parfait! Mmmmm.
