Happy 2nd Bandiversary my dear VV's!!!

Hey girls, congrats on all your success! I, unfortunately, am a failure story. I lost 30 pounds in the first six weeks and haven't lost a pound since. (Actually, I've lost five or six more but that's it.) I have had frequent fills, cannot eat much, I feel like the surgery itself has done for me what it promised as far as restriction but there's something screwed up with my body that won't let me lose weight. So I feel like I'm just the biggest, fattest screw up in the universe. I thought maybe if I posted that someone else might come out of the woodwork and let me know I'm not the only one who has had sucky results.

    9 Month Status

Thanks for the encouragement, Jaime. I feel like my surgeonr doesn't listen to a word a say so I'm going to try with my regular physician. By the way, I read about your great news on MySpace. Congratulations! =)

    Major victory!!!!!

Hooray for you!!!!!!! Now, don't weigh yourself for a week or so so you won't get on there and see that you've TEMPORARILY popped back into the 3's. It will be too depressing! (Ask me how I know.)

    Should I feel guilty

Tell your doctor you'll stop eating frozen meals when he moves in with you and starts cooking all of your fresh, home-cooked meals for you. =)

Creative way to keep track of my water intake

I used to use the same 20 oz. water bottle all day (I'm not opposed to tap water!). I would put ten rubber bands on the bottle and take one off every time I finished a bottle. That way I would know at a glance how many ounces I'd had and how many I had to go.

    9 Month Status

taismommy, This is my first time back here in months and months because of depression. I feel your pain. *hug* I am still *barely* maintaining the 30 pound loss I had right after the surgery when I was on liquids. I have enough restriction now and I'm barely eating a thousand calories a day but something is really wrong with me. There is no way a normal human body can maintain 300 pounds on 1000 or 1500 (on a bad day) calories a day! I canceled my appointment for November too because I didn't want to go in to my surgeon and come out crying again because he treats me like I'm a liar.
  7. I know that most of us have had our four month band anniversaries in June (mine will be June 25th) and I was wondering if you would be kind enough to tell us how much you've lost as of your 4 month anniversary. Edited to add, could you tell us how many fills you've had? I will have only had one by my 4 month and I think I'll be encouraged if the biggest losers have had a lot more fills than I have had. Thanks so much! Mine will look like this on Wednesday... As of June 25th, my 4 month Bandiversary, I have lost ______ pounds. I have had 1 fill, 3ccs in a 10 cc band. I was hoping to get an idea of how everyone is doing and how I fall along the continuum. Thank you girls and guys!!!! =)

    Can you tell?

That asshat is my new favorite word? I don't even know what it means but it makes me laugh every time I type/say it. =)

    Can you tell?

hee hee hee You girls are so funny. =) Get this....I started low-carbing yesterday. Low-carbing is the only way I've ever dieted successfully in my almost 39 years on this planet. So, after ONE DAY of low-carbing, I woke up at 296 pounds. That's two pounds less than I've ever been from SEVEN MONTHS AFTER MY STINKIN' SURGERY!!!!! SO, I'm happy and irritated at the same time. Now, this means if I lose 10 pounds before my appointment on the 11th he'll probably refuse to give me a fill again. That's why I'm going to carry lead in my pocket. =) (Seriously..) Take that, Dr. ASSHAT!!!!! =)

    Can you tell?

Please, do not let me stay away from here for weeks at a time anymore. Message me, harass me, stalk me....anything! I need you girls and I've missed you! *hug* By the way, thank you to my angel Ezma who keeps looking out for me. =)

Dang girl, you're so upbeat you can make a victory out of anything!!!! *hopes Ezma's positive outlook rubs off on me* (I still think the guy was an asshat.) hee hee hee hee hee hee

    6 Month Progress Pics

Congratulations to all of you who are looking and feeling successful at this band thing! I'm so happy for you! (And yes, it is possible to be jealous and happy at the same time.) =) Unfortunately, I can't post six-month progress pics because there has been no progress. Sassafrassin Q@)#&^#)(*&@#)*(&@#)(*@ I wish I could fire my asshat of a surgeon but unfortunately, he's the only one my insurance will cover. I really admire you for doing what you did Mac! I am going to act really, really ugly if he doesn't give me a fill when I go back on Sept. 11th. I was hoping this thread was chock-full of success stories because I wanted to print it and take it to him and say, "SEE??? You ultra-conservative on fills IDIOT. People with normal surgeons who give them fills are LOSING WEIGHT!!!!" Grrrrrrrrr. So let's see some more progress pictures!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!
  14. As of June 25th, my 4 month Bandiversary, I have lost 24 stinkin' pounds. I have had 1 fill, 3ccs in a 10 cc band. Ok girls, I need some moral support here. I want to impolitely stab my surgeon in the head with an ice pick about now. Yesterday I went, for what I assumed would be, my second fill and he wouldn't do it! He said I was losing around a pound a week, slow and steady wins the race, you're the tortoise not the hare, blah, blah, blah and I was honestly too stunned and defeated to argue with him about it. I did try to explain to him that the weight I've lost was all in the first 6 weeks and I've been GAINING weight for the last three but he wouldn't even listen to me. He just kept going by the average and said when people coerce him into fills they always come back begging to have saline removed in a couple of days. :tt2::thumbup::cool2::tt2::mad2::thumbup: I also told him that I can eat anything now, with no restriction whatsoever and he said, "Well, you come back in two months and if you've lost less than eight pounds I will CONSIDER a fill." At the rate I'm going, I will have gained all of my weight back by then! I am so freakin' depressed that I could give up.

    Hello all

That can't be your son, that's a man! You aren't old enough to have a MAN SON!!!!! =) He's gorgeous and he gets it from his Momma. =)
  16. Maybe we can even do this every month from now on to help us stay on track and see that we are making progress? Even when it seems sooooo slow.

    Gibson, We've MISSED YOU!!

Thank you sweethearts! I do love it here. =) I'm trying to catch up on posts now. I'm trying to be really good today since I've been having a bad week/month/total experience? I'm going to have to start immersing myself in the success stories here so I can get my motivation back. I do love you girls! *hug*

How do I buy regular clothes?

    You're a good person. I'm glad you're having problems. =)
  19. Awwww, I'm so sorry to hear about this Ezma! I haven't been around to here about your problems either. I hope it's something super easy to fix and you are back on track SOON!
  20. I'm back just in time to tell you that I LOVE your new look!!! I got my haircut from ponytail to as short as yours on Sunday and while it was shocking at first, I'm starting to really like it. YAY US!!!!! *hug*

    Anyone else eating clean?

I don't eat clean AT ALL but it sounds so refreshing that I might have to give it a try. I've been craving fruit like a monkey all week and can't seem to get enough. I'm so glad you are doing so well, Ezma. And I'm SUPER glad to see your pretty face! =)
  22. Yep, my scale is schizo like that too. Very frustrating. Especiallly when you weigh five times and three out of five times it's really high! =P I'm going to start exercising tomorrow (she says for the tenth time). I really am, though. We'll see if that helps because Lord knows I'm not losing anything.
  23. Because that's what I was doing this morning! I finally, FINALLY, after several years have gotten below the THREE HUNDRED MARK!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!! Who ever dreamed I'd be ecstatic to see 298.8 on my scale? Hopefully this will serve as a mental breakthrough to help me focus. LIFE IS GOOD!!!!
  24. Come on, please??? I'm begging you! I don't want to feel like the only one who has screwed up already! 1. Pre-op diet? What's a pre-op diet? (That was my first big mistake.) 2. In the last 48 hours I have eaten a whole baked potato, skin and all. Two Pintos and cheese from Taco Bell and a chalupa. Yes, SHELL AND ALL!!! God help me I didn't even feel stretched or bloated or anything. I'M SUPPOSED TO STILL BE ON liquids UNTIL THE ELEVENTH!!!!!:mad2::bored: I vowed to go back on all liquids today but my hunger is back full force and I am not a happy camper. I know the purpose of liquids is healing so I am forcing myself to comply now but I can't believe I'm going to have to white knuckle this for months and months. I kept praying I would be one who said, "I just never feel hungry."
