Start with the biotin now. 5,000 mcg per day. Also, it is said that while you are on your pre op try to get about 100 grams of protein per day and protein the first two weeks after is supposed to help as well. Not to mention more protein in the early weeks will help the healing process. Some surgeons say get protein as soon as you get home but a few say no protein for the first 1-3 weeks. Of course, listen to your surgeon.
I did protein as soon as I got home in the way of Isopure, was started out with about 20 grams then was at 60 by the end of the first week. My healing went extremely well and have not lost hair yet, but it is said that usually happens 2-4 months out. I am 8 weeks today so probably not there yet but hoping to minimize it.
Good luck, you will love your sleeve! I know I love mine!

    Thanks for your comment.
Well, to be completely honest, I'm not obsessed with the topic. I just have a boring life, this really happened to me, and I find poo funny. I had to write this post because it was my duty and it was a BIG duty! :-)

Funny you say that. Lots of folks seem to have a mini meltdown anywhere from 4-7 days out. Mine came day 6. Thought I was going crazy but after lurking around in this forum, found others in the same boat. After that I decided to have a pity party for one, got in jammies early, got under the heated throw and watched some mindless girlie TV and cried and sipped my water and Isopure. (which I agree is da bomb)
It's amazing what we can do so soon after surgery and if a mini meltdown is the worst, I think we are doing ok. Give yourself a break and allow yourself to feel the emotions. Tomorrow will most likely be better. :-)
Hang in there fellow March sleever!

Love me some Fresca! That stuff rocks! Gave it and my beloved sparkling water up a month ago but still think about it!
