  1. Have you tried the mini rice cakes? They come in a lot "chip" flavors like sour cream and onion, etc. They're definitely not chips, but they're much lower in carbs and taste good -- they satisfy the crunch for me.
  2. Someone on here recommended the sugar-free Sodastream flavors (they're sold at Walmart, Target, etc) to be mixed with water, not using carbonation. I tried the sugar-free root beer and sugar-free pink grapefruit. They're really good and a nice change...I bought the sugar-free/caffeine-free cola, but haven't tried that yet.
  3. Cool sleeves -- that's hilarious! Lol
  4. What's the name of the book?
  5. I'm 6 months out and 145 lbs down. I've had a little constipation -- otherwise, I haven't had any issues and I definitely have no regret (other than I wish I hadn't waited so long).
  6. I'm on the other side of the mountains in the Eastern Sierra (middle of nowhere).
  7. Hey there, Are you in the Central Valley?
  8. I got the Ninja at costco. It has a lot of bells and whistles (works as a food processor, etc) -- I couldn't be happier with it. I think it was right around $120. I use it every single day.
  9. Lol @ ass pickle! I like those 100 calorie Emerald brand almond packs. I've tried the cocoa and the cinnamon -- I liked them both a lot.
  10. Here is a link to one for sale on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006WSV2LA
  11. There is a recipe on here that uses cream cheese and an egg to make a "crust". I made it a few days ago. It came out pretty good. The "crust" didn't really get crispy -- it tasted more like the ricotta bake. However, I'm thinking that maybe it didn't crisp up because I used fat-free cream cheese... not sure.
  12. I don't know that I'm exactly inspirational, but I'm feeling really good and I'm really proud of myself. I was sleeved on 12/19/2012. I am 43 years old and weighed 367. I am 6'3". I've lost a total of 127 pounds.
  13. I am just over five months out from surgery - I was sleeved on 12/19/2012. I just emailed my RD this exact question last week. Here is how she replied: 6 mo. Post-op: ~850 calories/day ~90 grams carbohydrate/day 60-80 grams protein/day ~25 grams fat/day More than 12 mo. Post-op: ~1300 calories/day ~130 grams carbohydrate/day 60-100 grams protein/day ~40 grams fat/day I know that all of the programs are different -- that's just what I was told. Hope that helps.
  14. I've been drinking the Click Decaf Mocha and I like it very much (wish it had more protein). I'm thinking about ordering the vanilla Latte -- can't seem to get a good answer though -- does the Vanilla Latte contain caffeine? If so, is it a lot? Thanks, sleevers! Bob
  15. I just saw that Quest (of the Protein bars) sells a low carb Pasta called Pastabilities... http://www.questprot...p?idCategory=15 Has anyone tried this? Anyone know anything about this product and its worthiness? Thanks! Bob
  16. Congratulations! What a success story!
  17. Congratulations! I am so happy for you, that must feel great!
  18. Eric, Did you wind up getting one at Best Buy? If so, what are your thoughts? Amazon now says that mine is 'preparing to ship' and I should get it by Friday... hmmmm Bob
  19. Ditto on what everyone has been posting. Laura, you are the main reason I continuously read these threads/forums.
  20. I don't eat bars very often, but I had a Quest bar yesterday and it was good. If you microwave it for 10-15 seconds it's softer and doesn't seem as dense... still hard to finish an entire bar though.
  21. I haven't heard about kidney stones, but I have heard that gall stones can occur with rapid weight-loss, which is why many people are on a med to prevent them.
  22. I am almost five months out and still eat them. I don't eat them as much as I did at first (maybe I wasn't getting in as much liquid at that point) but still love them. I buy the Popsicle brand (they're 15 calories each and taste fine) and the Dreyer's/Edy's brand. The Dreyer's/Edy brand are 25 calories each and a bit more expensive -- but they're SO good. They're not as easy for me to come by, but when I find them I almost have to buy them.
  23. I'm almost 5 months post-surgery and this has probably been the biggest challenge. I take stool softeners daily, Miralax almost daily, and Milk of Magnesia once or twice a week. For me it hasn't really gotten much different -- it's about the same since the first month.
