  1. Yes...my portions feel more "normal" now too! I really like that. Now, I do have my days where I just don't wanna eat much, but for the most part, it's going pretty well. To, the creator of this post, hang in there!! You will have great days!!
  2. I agree, definitely a struggle...I feel tired sometimes but then I talk to myself & say, "Come on girl. You got this. Do it. Push it. You won't give up. Make it happen". Then I pray & say, "God, I need you to guide me & show me just what to do to make this happen....to get to my goal. God, please don't leave me. I can't do this without you. Thank you". So, my surg was March, 6, 2013 & I started at 303. My ticker says 257, but I did what I said I wouldn't & pulled out my scale this morn & 260! Well, I can only assume Fluid retention or muscle gain cause I lift faithfully every week. I'm encouraged, because I believe that the big "Whoosh" will come one day soon. Waiting....
  3. Oh yeah, I wanna get a Tattoo too & a couple more piercings.

  5. Thank you so much. I took 800mg both Sat & Sunday night but took out the tongue ring today. I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. It was in the way too much when trying to eat & I sounded like I had a speech problem when I talked. I kept telling myself, "You just got it done. Give it time." BUT, no way. It's just not for me, lol!! Oh, I didn't have issues with the Ibuprofen though. It's not something that I will make a habit out of, cause I don't wanna cause myself any harm, but I felt it was necessary Sat & Sun.
  6. ...(I hope all of the lyrics that I posted from the internet are correct)
  7. Hmmm...this is a good one!! Let's see... I'll Hold On by Tamela Mann I can hear a voice telling me to let go, oohh (oohh) And it feels like the light is hiding from my eyes, I'm so lost Searching for one bread a day trying to find a way But I still believe even if I don't see, I'll hold on [Chorus] I'll hold on When it feels like my prayers have flown away no matter how long it takes I'll hold on When I'm standing on my last leg I'll keep going, I'll hold on Ooh, Ooh, Oohh [Verse 2] I can feel the world is changing all around me, oh oh oh Been waiting all my life for my dreams to come alive but I know We can't control when a wish flies away, if it comes back one day But I still believe even if I don't see, I'll hold on [Chorus] I'll hold on When it feels like my prayers have flown away no matter how long it takes I'll hold on When I'm standing on my last leg I'll keep going, I'll hold on [bridge] So when the tears fall down my face And it feels like I'm gon' break When there's no words left to say (I'll lift my hands) Keeping both my eyes on you Because I know your words are true You're the strength in all I do [Chorus] I'll hold on When it feels like my prayers have flown away no matter how long it takes I'll hold on When I'm standing on my last leg I'll keep going I'll hold on When it feels like my prayers have flown away no matter how long it takes I'll hold on When I'm standing on my last leg I'll keep going, I'll hold on
  8. I really appreciate you responding. Thank you! :-)
  9. I am currently up to one mile (walk/jog) on the treadmill. I'd love to do 3!! I will one day. :-) Congrats!!
  10. This is a great topic & I'm enjoying all of the posts, especially the DONUTS!!! LOL...I love it. You all made me smile. Thanks, cause if you saw my other recent topic, you'll know I'm not feeling too well. Anyway....CONGRATS FOR MAKING IT TO ONEDERLAND!!!!! Whew I sure can't wait until I get there!!
  11. Hi peeps!! I got my tongue pierced yesterday (still trying to figure out if it was a good idea, but that's a whole other story, lol) I'm at work today from 8:30a-5p & my job is talking on the phone all shift. So...I broke down & took an 800mg Ibuprofen to help with some of the swelling. I know we are NOT supposed to have NSAIDS. So...with all of this being said, my question is have you ever had to take an anti-inflammatory & did it cause you any issues? I just need a peace of mind about this. Thanks for all who contribute. I appreciate. & by the way...this IS NOT A POST FOR "WELL, WHY WOULD YOU DO SOMETHING THAT YOUR DR TOLD YOU NOT TO?? I JUST DON'T GET IT????" So, please save all of that mumbo jumbo, lol!! Thanks everyone!!
  12. Big difference in the two pics. You do look great. Congrats on your loss! I'm glad that you are enjoying your food also. I believe that it's great to eat well but also enjoy it along the journey. Best Wishes!!
  13. I had my first drink at about 7wks out, no issues. It was a Margarita. I took a few sips & it tasted so sugary & syrupy (if that's a word, lol). Then I recently had a big glass of Mascato & it was very enjoyable!! No issues at all. That was one of the questions I asked my surgeon. He said after the initial phase, go for it! I was like
  14. Oh, let me tell you...I had a glass of (yeah it's cheap) Sutter Hill (hope I spelled it right) Mascato!! Love it!!! It's so sweet, went down great, got a great buzz, & no headache in the am!!
  15. CONGRATS! The hiking story made my heart melt. That's awesome!
  16. Yes, I work out at work everytime I am there. I have 5lb dumbells that I lift while I sit at the computer (in between calls) & I also have something similar to a "Thigh Master" that I use on alternate days. I wear 5lb ankle weights all day on my "leg days" & also walk on my breaks. Whew...yeah, that's what I do. I decided about 4wks ago that I'm tired of sitting all day at work & not getting anything out of it.
  17. Thanks! You just made me smile! :-)
  18. I committed to not weighing myself for two weeks as of today. Well, I think I might go longer than 2 weeks now...we'll see. I'm gonna start taking more pics, too. Great advice.
  19. I was brave enough this morning to try a set of jumping jacks & I did it!! They've been hard for me to do, but thank God I'm getting stronger from working out.
  20. I can relate. Great story to encourage other women that have dealt with this pain or are dealing with it in regards to anything negative that has attached itself to their lives. I'm proud of you sister! You were brave to tell your story. Keep telling it. Women need stories of hope, courage, and success. I'm glad that you survived with your life & congrats on all of your successes!! Post pics of baby! :-)
