  1. How exciting. I ti is just around the corner. I see you went to Mumbai for lapband. How was that experience? Mary
  2. My NUT's plan is for soft foods starting week 4 and reintroduce regular foods (protein first) starting week 6. I have been doing OK since soft foods include chicken and tuna salad. It almost feels normal. Mary
  3. OK, first, I know I shouldn't be complaining as I don't have constipation and and I should be thankful. But, it is the little things that are annoying. Before surgery, I would wake up and go #1 and #2 like clock work. Then, I could get on the scale and know I would be my lightest. Now, I wake up go #1 and no way is #2 happening. But, then I eat and have to go immediately. I wonder why it takes eating to wake up my insides. I feel like I am getting jipped a 1/2 lb by not being my lighest. I know, shut up and be happy that I am not constipated. Mary
  4. Welcome to the losers' bench. Remember to walk, nap, sip some fluids <repeat>
  5. No advice, but congrats on the amazing weight loss so far. Mary
  6. Welcome to VST and congratulations on making this wonderful choice. Mary
  7. I worked from the Hotel yesterday (i.e., my home during the week). I caught the last part of the Dr. Oz show where they talked about three Vitamins / nutrients. http://blog.doctoroz.com/is-this-right-for-you/chromium-polynicotinate-is-this-right-for-you http://blog.doctoroz.com/is-this-right-for-you/diindolylmethane-dim-is-this-right-for-you http://blog.doctoroz.com/oz-experts/a-new-omega-3-krill-oil I thought all three had merits worth checking out for everyone, but especially for WLS folks. Especially, DIM since it is hard to get enough vegies in when we have to eat Protein first. Thus, I thought I would share. Mary
  8. Email or call them. People who use Dr. Arial Garcia sign an agreement to not disclose the price they paid. From what I have seen, he is about 1500 to 2000 more than the Mi Doctors. Mary
  9. I am 4 1/2 weeks out. Started soft foods this week. I am having issues figuring out what the right quantity is for soft food. I think it is around a 1/2 cup of food, but it seems to vary a bit by the type of food. My biggest issue is that I travel for work and stay in a hotel M-F. Thus, I don't have easy access to a measuring cup and I haven't figured out how to estimate quanities. The other problem is that I can't figure out the quantity or type of food to eat at night that lets me sleep through the night. Most nights I wake up at 2:30 / 3 am needing food or I can't get back to sleep. I weigh in on the weekends but seem to be losing a steady 3-4 lbs a week. Mary
  10. Same here, yes I think is fairly accurate
  11. I had a lower BMI and went to MX to get it done. Come over to the MX forum, there are lots of folks like you who made the decision to stop the madness before we developed any more co-morbidiities and became even more over weight. Mary
  12. My guess is that you will lose at least 50 lbs, which is probably about 4-5 sizes. So, if you are a 16 order a 12, then they can take it in. It is easier to take it in then add to it. Mary
  13. Welcome, pop over to the MX board, there are more of us who have lower BMIs to start with. And, also understand you don't have monthly check up with your doctor. Mary
  14. When is it safe to add juicing to your diet. I will be a full 3 weeks out tomorrow and have a juicer and would love to add to my diet. Mary
  15. What is your current weight and what is your goal weight? The more you have to lose the more will come off in the beginning. I read somewhere on average you will lose 10lbs a month. But, in the beginning, if you have a lot to lose you could easily lose 30lbs in the first month. Mary
  16. I have a WW one. Make sure you get one where it gives you body fat %, etc. I like seeing that number go down too. Mary
  17. I received my surgical report and learned I had a moderate hiatal hernia, which they repaired and a moderate peri-esphagitis (inflamation around the esophagus, liver with no abnomalities. They used a 32 French Bougie. Blood ranges for everything was normal except potassium which was a bit elevated. My brother thought that might be from being dehydrated when they took my blood. Oh, and they diagnosed me as morbidly Obese ... Hey, there I had a lower BMI dude. I am obese ... but ... Oh, well "pecaahn" or "pecaan" is still a pecan. I thought it was odd that no one told me that I had the hiatal hernia or inflamation. The good news is that I wasn't charged extra for the fix and I am doing fine. Mary
  18. I am jealous, I won't be 3 weeks out until Tuesday and can't start soft foods until then. I so want scrambled eggs. Mary
  19. Looking forward to hearing about your surgery adventure. Mary
  20. Oh, and I went back to work in 6 days, where I have to travel out of state to be at my client site. Mary
  21. I am glad you are doing better. Mary
