Hi my name is Michelle and I have battled my weight for many years, practically my whole life. I just recently opted to go with the Vertical Sleeve after meeting with my surgeon who I have chosen and I feel that I am making the best decision of a lifetime. After losing so many battles diet after diet just to gain what I've lost plus more I am just tired of being defeated. I am ready to win this battle once and for all. I have too much to live for, really live for. I am a young grandmother and my granddaughter who I care for full time is my pride and joy and is a handful as she is approaching two years old. Until recently being denied time after time from insurance companies, I have been blessed by my very loving father who surprised me by telling me that he had decided to pay for my operation. I did not expect this, I never thought it would ever happen for me and now it is. I could not have asked for a more supportive, loving and caring father that he is. I thank God for this opportunity that he has blessed me with. So here I am excited to join this group for support and I look forward to making new friends on my journey.

After meeting with my Surgeon on 1/11/13 he put me on a protein diet. Protein drink for breakfast and lunch, sensible dinner consisting of lean beef, chicken or pork and veggies staying away of carbs and starchy vegetables. And of course drink lots of water. Before my operation he wants me to lose atleast 35 pounds and wants my liver to shrink to make the surgery easier.

I have 4 things to do before my operation will be scheduled:

1. Gallbladder Ultrasound - done 1/16/13 (determined that it will be removed during my procedure)

2. Bloodwork- 1/21/13

3. Nutritionist - 1/24/13

4. Psyh Eval - 2/4/13

5. HAD SURGERY 4/10/2013!!!
