dollbaby1969 got a reaction from anayortiz in WHAT TO EXPECT PAIN WISE AFTER SURGERY?PLZ INFORM ME..
Everyone has a different experience. I had a good experience. I did not suffer at all with the gas pains associated with surgery. I walked immediately. My surgery was laproscopic. So, I had no real major pain from the surgery. There was some soreness in my abdomen. It felt like I had done a lot of situps. On the stapled incision side I had would sometime feel a painful pull. But that was do to some strain I had unintentionally placed on my body. It is important to follow the doctor's directions. I didn't even take pain medication while I was in the hospital or when I got out.

dollbaby1969 got a reaction from kimikat3 in The blues
I stayed home 2 weeks after surgery. While I was off, my family and friends went about their daily lives. I had a couple of days where I was very blue. I even cried because I felt like no one was coming to see me. As I look back, I realize I was lonely and bored. I was frustrated by being restricted in what I could do. And previously my comfort was food. I didn't have that to go to to soothe my hurt feelings. My family and friends had their things to do. They had jobs and family. They didn't get time off for my surgery and recovery. As time passed and I got closer to being able to resume a normal life I began to feel better.

dollbaby1969 got a reaction from READY4CHANGE2013 in QUESTION: What made you decide to be sleeved OVER gastric bypass?
    Hi,
I researched the band, bypass and the sleeve. After reading and researching and attending the seminars, I chose sleeve because I would not be rerouting. I wouldn't have the issue of malabsorption. Another determining factor was that I was told in the seminar that bypass patients who were diabetics had their diabetes instantly resolved. I am not diabetic so that was the final factor in my decision.

I was told corned need hash puréed is a good one -- or make a beef stew for your family minus the potatoes and puree that -- not very pleasing to the eye but tasty and has Protein. I add unflavored Syntrax Nectar protein to everything - chamomile tea, sf pudding, crystal lite, Soup, cream of wheat, etc. make sure when you add into hit liquids not to exceed 130 degrees. I am 11 days post of and down 21.5 lbs ... Walking 2 plus miles a day and eager for puréed entree on Monday!!!!!????????????

dollbaby1969 got a reaction from Fair2bslimLady in 1st Day on Pureed Food
Today was my first day on the pureed diet. I was so excited to get something close to real food. I had babyfood 2.5 oz (chicken and gravy) and a pureed turkey burger (2.5 oz). It was HEAVEN! I dont know how I am going to go back to Protein Shakes to get all my extra Protein in. I tried mixing some unflavored Unjury to my Crystal Lite and it was just not happening. I don't look forward to adding it to my yogurt or pudding either. Does anyone have any good ideas on getting in your protein on your pureed diet? I would be grateful for whatever info I can get.

dollbaby1969 got a reaction from arthritis_me in sleeved Saturday, have barely eaten anything and up 1 lb
Yes, this happens. Sometimes the cause is the result of the extra fluids your body has from the iv fluids. After I got home I had some swelling of my legs and ankles. After drinking and walking and getting enough fluids in me to actually urinate and the swelling went down. The next time I checked I was down 15 pounds. Don't worry. The weight will come off.

I have three more days of complete liquid. I am so looking forward to different taste options and something close to 'real' food. I am not hungry-just bored with what I am having to ingest.
