  1. I have h pylori and I'm currently on that lovely combo of meds. My surgeon said after the 14 days, they can do a breath test or stool sample test. My surgeons office even does the breath test if I want him to do it instead of my gastro. He also said once you've had it and taken the meds, it's very rare to contract it again.
  2. I still have to go through 5 more months of weigh ins, but I was thinking of trying the pre-op diet just to get myself mentally ready. Anyone try it before they had to? Did you lose weight? How much?
  3. I called my insurance company before my consultation today, and they told me there was no minimum time requirement. Today, at my consultation, he tells me I have to go once a month for 6 months to weigh in. So I'm looking at a June/July surgery. I reallyyyyy hope these next 6 months fly by. Anyone else have to wait that long?
  4. This is why only my mother (who is being sleeved next month) and my husband know. Good luck!!
  5. Nope.. Still in the approval stage. But my boys are my motivation. I want to be able to run around and be active with them. I won't be able to if I don't make a change now.
  6. I've had two c-section, both with morphine, and vomited both times. Maybe I can tell them from the beginning so they can use something else? My biggest fear is nausea/vomiting.. it's kind of a phobia :/
  7. Wow that's amazing!! How was the surgery itself? How about recovery the first few days?
  8. How long are you supposed to be on the diet for? How badly did you "crash"?
  9. Nice!! Is he from the same practice? How was your experience?
  10. My hubs is 100% supportive. He is an optimist, so he's always saying "everything will be fine". He's not overweight ad never had been, so he doesn't realize how being obese is really affecting my personality. He's already says he loves me at 280lbs, and if I want the surgery he'll love me just the same. He's a keeper
  11. So how hard is it? The liquid diet, I mean.
  12. I'm in Suffolk county in Holbrook. I haven't been scheduled yet.
  13. My aunt works there..awesome hospital!
  14. I'm going to NY Bariatrics in St. Charles Hospital. Anyone else?
  15. The only people I've told are my husband and my mother. I don't plan on telling anyone else until preop or maybe even after the surgery
  16. This is all new, but I was wondering what is the point of the 2 week pre-op diet? Is it to lose some weight before the surgery? Or to clean out your stomach?
