  1. I'm a day behind you (8 days po) and I get about 400-600 calories per day, but I know I'm not getting in all my fluid. I went through horrible caffeine withdrawal during my pre op diet. I was literally unable to move for 2-3 days because of headaches and jitters. Did you not give up caffeine till surgery? Or did you have a pre op diet?
  2. And all of a sudden my shakes make me sick. I drank them since day 1 post op and only the past three days, after only 2 or three sips, it sends me flying to the bathroom in a sweat and coming out of both ends (sorry tmi). I've heard of lactose intolerance after surgery, but I've been fine with skim milk, cheese, yogurt, and all other dairy. Thoughts? I use the premier protein shakes from Costco.
  3. Wow!! You look hot!! Lol If you don't mind me asking, what are your before numbers? How much did you lose?
  4. I've never heard of ham salad.. What is it?
  5. I may be a rare case, but I had zero pain, and I didn't take any pain meds either. I never used my pain pump, and only asked for IV Tylenol once because I had a headache. Gas cramps were very minimal. The only thing I could complain about was the dry mouth!!! And also I was very tired the first few hours. I kept falling asleep in the chair sitting up. Since I've been home I also had no pain, went out with my husband and my kids the next day, and grocery shopping yesterday (I'm 6 days out today). I was really tired after shopping, but still no pain. I've been very lucky
  6. I'd say to do what your doctor told you. My doctor has us on purée in the hospital the day after surgery, but all doctors are different.
  7. I'm obsessed, I weigh 8-12 times a day.. pretty much every time I pass the bathroom. I even weigh in the middle of the night if I get restless. And I'm only 6 days out!! It's horrible
  8. Wow! I have a feeling you'll have no problem finding someone!!
  9. I feel amazing! But I think I'm one of the few that felt amazing since I woke up. I feel like I never had surgery.. until I take to big of a sip and feel the pain lol. I did a huge grocery shopping today with my kids and when I got home I was exhausted, but day to day I feel great!
  10. My doc said no fruit because of all the sugar
  11. I had surgery 5 days ago and feel amazing!!!! I haven't once needed pain meds or been nauseous!! I've had a very easy recovery (knock on wood)
  12. I guess when I start eating solid food it will be harder to do. But I guess it's better than my 3000 calories pre op!
  13. For the first week or so how many did you eat? I'm having 2 shakes a day which is 110 each, then I'm on purée foods too. Yesterday I had 280 calories, but today I had over 500!!! Im only 5 days out. I'm eating purée egg salad, purée refrained beans with sour cream, and a tiny bit of fat free cream of broccoli with a little cheese melted in. Is that too much? I'm eating the right servings (2-4oz depending on the food), but that seems like a lot of calories!
  14. Oh, and I also cooked up a bunch of casseroles and stuff before surgery and froze them so it was easier to make dinners. Also the crock pot really helps.
  15. I'm not a single mom, but my husband went back to work (12 hour days) the day after I got home from the hospital. My kids are 1 and 3.5. I lucked out and feel amazing! My problem is I feel so good that I try And do too much. I'm supposed to also have a 5lb weight restriction, but I've had to lift my 1 year old a couple of times.
  16. I'm 23 and was just sleeved Wednesday. I have a higher bmi, but no other health issues. I had no problem at all with insurance! They approved me within days of submitting all of my paperwork! I consider myself very lucky because my experience pre op, and now post op have been amazingly easy! I've lost 15lbs since surgery!
  17. My insurance didn't require a loss. I had to have 6 months of weigh ins, and I think I gained 5lbs in that time. I have a horrible binge eating problem. But now, I'm 4 days post op and already 22lbs down (8lbs from pre op diet)!!! You CAN do this!
  18. Ok good. I put bandages over them last night because I was freakin out that they weren't ready to come off yet lol.
