  1. I know some people have it easy and some have it hard but I really wish I could have had it easy! The worst part has been the gas pain, nothing seems to work. I can't expand my lungs all the way due to the pain so I just keep hyperventilating! And just think I thought I was this big toughie who had two kids no pain meds. I would pop out five more easy to have this pain over!

  2. Hi all

I had my surgery yesterday. Had many weeks of emotional turmoil with lots of crying and nervousness. I got home this afternoon and been so weak and uneasy in the stomach. I feel so bloated and gassy. I've read it's normal but how long does this feeling last? I have 2 small kids and I just don't have the energy to smile and be happy around them. Feel so guilty.

Is it normal to feel more gassy when I sip something?

    I hope everything's ok.

I was also sleeved yesterday and I am still in the hospital and no way should you feel guilty I am also having bad gas pains an its like being ripped apart. I just had 1/4 of a sf popsicle and the pain is unbelievable! The best you can do is take care of yourself! You can even recruit the little one to help you out they can be little Dr's!'n

  3. this slow thing is so frustrating! i don't have time for this slow stuff. i haven't thrown up yet (thankfully) but if i eat too fast i get like a pain in my throat.

my surgery was 4 weeks ago today! i can start eating pretty much anything tomorrow.

i struggle to get my Protein in! it seems like the thought of most food makes me nauseous' date=' even food i was eating last week! i don't know what to do and i feel like i'm out of options!

what has everyone else been eating? canned chicken/tuna, Protein shakes, eggs, deli meat - all makes me nauseous just thinking about it and when i eat them i can take 2 bites and then have to stop - not because i'm full but just because it is gross to me! anyone else experiencing this?![/quote']

I saw someone else posted this website earlier and I have been checking it out. It's amazing...jam packed with recipe's from shakes, to soft foods, to full on low fat/ low carb Snacks, and deserts it's (The world according to egg face)... Really really good!

  4. Do u remember how much your surgery was? My ins pays all but 10% ...just trying to get an estimate

Mine was 14,500 and I my insurance also covered all but 10% so I had to pay 300.00 surgeon fee and a 1,000 hospital fee!

  5. lovetobeme' date='

I started my process early this week and was told to expect approx 1 month for surgery from my appt. I started with a doctor in New Orleans but I live closer to Houma... What was the name of the doctor that completed your Psych eval? The doctor in New Orleans that was recommended is holding up the process since she won't be able to see me until the 18th. Also, where did you do your sleep study? If I can speed those two things along, I may be able to have everything done as planned!! I may also look into switching surgeons to complete my process in Houma if it doesn't mess up the process that I've started! Take care and wish me luck![/quote']

When I get home I will inbox you her number ok!

Good luck first of all! And the woman who did my psych was named Virginia Pellegran and I did my sleep study a Thibodaux regional med center! But there is also sleep solutions in Houma! I had my surgery at physicians medical center in Houma and all I have to say is wow! I feel like a pampered queen here in my private room and all the amenities!

  7. I chuckled when I read your post..I am going to Olive Garden tomorrow night for one last meal there...lol..I start pre-op diet Monday..so how are you feeling after surgery??? I am having surgery March 6 th...can't wait!!!

I am sore but feeling good. I have been making a point to walk 15-20 mins every hour to help with gas because the pain from gas is terrible. I still don't feel hungry and besides a medicine cup half full of ice chips I haven't had anything to drink since 4pm Tuesday.

  8. Well' date=' I'm in to the teens now. 19 days and counting before the big day. Time is moving pretty quickly, and it'll go even quicker now that Tuesday I have my pre op appointment and start my pre op diet, then Thursday I have my pre op with the hospital. I'm excited, nervous, all at the same time. I think the thing I'm probably going to miss the most at first are my workouts and competitions, but...it'll work out because in a year I should be competing in a lighter weight class.[/quote']

Congrats to you, the time will go by so fast!

  10. They gave me Lortab (liquid vicodan). It works just fine. Oh I did use the pump the first 24 hours and they loaded me up with reglan and zofran for nausea but I felt better off the pump after the first 24 hours. I had no problems with pain control.

Oh good hopefully that will be the case cause if I wait to long then it's nausea city for me!

  12. Yep! The pump made me nauseated. Once they unhooked it I was just fine.

I'm scared not to be able to get the meds I set my phone on to ring every half hour so I can hit the pump... Did they put you on different meds? What were they if so?
