  1. I had no complications but at 4-5 days out I didn't feel like doing anything but staying in bed. It all depends on your pain level/med intake and how exhausted your body is after so much trauma.

    Specks of blood...

I don't like what the dr said. If you still have a lot of blood coming up and can't keep anything down I'd go to the ER. Bright red doesnt sound normal to me.

    So many emotions!

You are feeling the same things I did. It's completely normal and healthy. You just have to know that if you don't do something the outcome being bad is guaranteed. If you do this the outcome if far more likely to be great!

    This means war...

I agree with Maria. Don't deprive yourself, just be smart about it. We've deprived ourselves over and over again only to fail miserably. I'm over half way to goal ( ignore the timeline, I haven't updated it) and since being on solids have not deprived myself. If I have a piece of pizza I go very light with other meals for the day or the next day. Live your life!

    Fast Food

Susie you are so right about doing this to our kids as well. My kids have completely changed their eating habits along with me and are now aware of what goes in their bodies. This new life has paid off for my whole family!

    July 30th baby!

Congrats! It's a difficult but beautiful journey!
  7. This is a good list to remember when the head hunger and cravings try to get the better of us.

    Vacations and alcohol

I just went on vacation with people who we normally drink with. I drank the skinny margarita the first day and did fine. However, I felt so bad for all the wasted calories I refrained from alcohol the rest of the trip. Instead I had margarita flavored crystal light. That worked for me. If you have trouble stopping you should tell the people you are with that you shouldn't be drinking after surgery and they will help you stay on track. That's if they know and assuming they are supportive. You can still have a good time without alcohol. Try to get into that mind set. Keep in mind you did this for your future self, don't sabotage the future for drinking.

    Specks of blood...

What color is the blood? Bright red or dark? Might be best to call your doctor.

    Diva with a Date! !

Gorgeous pic!!! Wishing you the best on your journey!
  11. I was still wiped out at 7 weeks and was getting everything in. I think it was the trauma my body went through and it takes some bodies take longer to recover than others.
  12. What a great story and inspiring post. Thank you.

    Always Thinking about food!

Every time I'm inappropriately thinking about food I drink something like milk or water and holds of my tendency to eat whatever is in the house. It's very difficult though and I know what you are going through. Hang in there and focus on being diligent. You can do this!!

    After procedure...fırst few weeks

I agree that the premier protein is the best. I still have one everyday.

    Alcohol ..

Try a skinny girl margarita. Worked for me yesterday. Didn't hit me too hard as long as I went slow. Effects were the same as before surgery. Still made sure I got my protein in before I started.
