salads
I'm curious as well. Salads are green lighted for me in week six. Never thought I would be soooooo excited to eat a salad.

Different Taste Buds?
I couldn't stand any of the clear liquid foods. Can't stand the artificial sweetener, couldn't stand the broth --- it was rough! Luckily, I only had to do it for 1 week post op. Now I'm on full liquids and enjoying pureed soups, greek yogurt, pureed oatmeal and milk. Hang in there, it does get better!!!

**May 31st**
It feels and tastes good. I still have gurgling and a tiny bit of stomach seizing occasionally. I'm only doing 4oz at a time as I'm not sure what my capacity is. I haven't been nauseous or thrown up yet probably because I haven't really tested my capacity. I'm just taking it slow right now so to answer your question, not feeling the restriction as not trying to at this point. Congrats on your blood pressure!!!!

3 weeks post op and need some diet opinions.
I'm 10 days post op and I'm eating about 4oz at each meal. I'm currently on full liquids so I'm having things like pureed soups, greek yogurt and watery/pureed oatmeal. I'm able to do the 4oz comfortably and don't feel too full - perhaps I could do a little more but don't want to push it.

Surgery Tomorrow Morning!
Try to get some sleep tonight because you won't get much in the hospital. Good luck.

Peanut Butter?
Natural nut butters (peanut, almond, walnut, cashew - no sugar or oil added) are allowed by my NUT starting week 3 (soft foods).

leak in my sleeve
Symptoms: unexplained consistent fever 100.5^ , pain: left upper torso shoulder/back, left ribcage, tachycardia (fast heart rate) also increased abdominal pain, shortness of breath, sweating, chills, general malaise. I'm not an expert - just found this when I googled. Perhaps folks with more experience should chime in in case I've misstated anything. Hope you are OK.

2-3 post opers... ? or older
I am 9 days post op and have accidentally taken several almost regular size drinks of water over the last couple of days with no impact. I did have to keep it to small sips for the first several days but seems like I can do bigger drinks (not gulps) now.

Exercise 50's + 100 #
How about water aerobics? If you have a YMCA nearby, they usually have a great variety of water classes. Would be a good start until you've lost enough weight to move to land based classes/activities.

10 things I can't wait to do
I love your list --- If I were to make one, several of your items would be on mine. Keep your eye on the prize and good luck to you!!!

Swimming
If you can push it back a week, preferably 2, I would suggest that. You won't be as restricted on food, should have more energy and will have a greater opportunity to swim. I had my 1 week post-op visit with my surgeon yesterday and he said I was OK to swim or take baths but I'm going to give it one more week just to be safe. I have glue (like super glue) over my incisions. It's peeling up but isn't gone yet. Good luck!

moody as ***...
The clear liquid diet for the first week post op really did a number on my emotions and mood. Once I hit full liquids yesterday, it's like I'm a whole new person. For me, each day gets a bit better. I think you are just in the toughest part of it right now but it really should get better soon.

Dr. Kelly as a back up plan...but what do I do when i get back?
Just take COBRA under your husband's insurance for as long as you need. Or, ask for him to cover you for 12 months as part of the divorce settlement. Just a couple ideas that you may not have considered....

**May 31st**
Going to sleep tonight happy, hopeful and ready to rock my new sleeve week by week as prescribed by my doc. Have I mentioned how giddy some soup and a little pudding have made me?? Can't wait until everyone is in the full liquid phase-soooooo much better!!! :-)

single
I'm not single so I can't speak from personal experience but I have 2 single sisters in their 50's and a single father (my mom passed away some time ago) in his 80's and it's the same giddy feeling no matter what age based on my discussions and observations with them. My dad asked a gal out about a month ago and when she said yes, he was so happy, playful and excited the whole day. I think you have tons of fun to look forward to. :-)

Does anyone feel like they are the "fatest" one in your family?
I love your posting style contrary to the zing you received earlier tonight in another thread. I think you are honest and funny without being hurtful. Keep it up. Oh, and I double 171 qualifies you for town fatty.

Wow - people can be sooooo rude!!! Sorry 'bout that. Will be fixed soon enough.

Alcohol ..
I love a good cosmo provided the bartender knows how to make it right. I'm months away from having one though since I'm just 1 week post op. Oh, Weed and water (Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea Vodka) might be a good one too. Happy early 21st!

It feels a little weird but not painful and I'm able to get it down. Hope the same for you soon!
