    Exercise

I jog 20min, zumba, 30min yoga, kickboxing, 6mi walk, squats, and butt exercises 6days a week. I don't have a specific routine, everyday except Sundays I get in 60-90min of any of those exercises. I'm 8wks post-op I've been clear for all exercises and foods.

@Jessica anything and everything counts! I try not to over do it because exercising take a lot from us because we're consuming so little at a time. So its a learning process for me to take it easy both in exercising and eating lol. My eyes and mouth are way too big for my little tummy at times, but slowly we'll all get the hang of it.

That's AWESOME that you're losing wt now. The doctors like to see that because it gives them a sense that you're serious about wls. I could have had my surgery sooner, but I had gained wt over Christmas and New yrs. I went from 316 to 322. And that's when I told myself that its now or never and starting on Jan 3rd I went from 322 to 287 on the day of surgery 4/9/13 and today I'm at 256 with a goal of 235 by 7/10/13 at my 3mos post-op appt. Each time I challenge myself...it gets easier by the day, but some days I just can't get anything down so I pray and slowly my appetite starts to come back. You'll see when you're on the other side that each individual is unique in their own way with wls.

Total time from start to surgery day for me was 5mos, but its different for everyone. I have no comorbidities, thankfully! My suggestion is to workout as much as you can preop and get yourself into an exercise routine no matter how big/small. It will help tremendously with the recovery process. I walked 1.59mi 10days after surgery...it wasn't easy, but I did it. Now I'm 256lbs and jogging 20min nonstop 5days a week and walking 5-6mi 2days a week. Feel free to ask me any questions you have and hopefully I can help in any way possible. Lota

Hahahaha...oops I forgot that part lol. After my psych eval it was a waiting game because I had met with Dr Chu on 12/19/12 and i had to lose 26lbs before i can get a surgery date and my psych eval was on 2/5/13. They have a list of how the process should go, but I think its dependent on the individual because I was not suppose to have my psych eval until I am 5lbs within my surgery wt. and I was nowhere near that number.

Hello there...which Dr are you going with. I'm 7wks 3days post-op and I went with Dr Chu. She's amazing! No complications...healing really well and doing great. Can pretty much tolerate any kinds of foods.

    For My April Sleevers

My surgery is tomorrow morning and I just bought sugar free Jello, pudding, fudge pops, popsicles, plain Greek yogurt, and bananas for my Protein Shakes. I figured that should be enough to hold me over at least for this week. I'll be on full liquids for 2wks post-op until I'm cleared for soft phase. Fortunately I haven't been nervous or anything...why?...I'm not sure. I was more freaked out about preop appt, I guess I'm just ready to get it done. Best of luck to you and praying for a speedy and healthy recovery for you.
