  1. I stalled for 3 weeks, too. Had to re-evaluate what I was eating. My nut said I could eat carbs as long as I got my Protein, because I couldn't possibly eat enough in calories to not lose. But as soon as I cut out the carbs again, the stall broke. I think everyone is different. Maybe you have to bump up your calories or carbs to trick your body, then cut them out again? Most importantly, be patient and dont get discouraged. It's a learning process for every one of us.
  2. No, but I'm having my 2nd period in 3 weeks. Wonder if I'm absorbing my pill at all.
  3. Thanks all! These sound like great ideas for any day of the week, too!
  4. I'm going cross-country skiing this weekend and want to take a hearty Soup that wont be too hard on my stomach. I'm a little less concerned about calories for that day since I'll be burning a ton. Plus, I've been feeling a little low blood sugary lately, I don't want to pass out in the woods with nobody around! FYI, I'm 5 wks 2 days PO. Thanks!
  5. Made this last night and it was really yummy: 1 chicken breast, diced 3 mini bell peppers (1 yellow, 1 orange, 1 red) 1 small zucchini, deseeded and diced 4 large mushrooms, diced Light Greek Vinaigrette Feta cheese 1/2 Avocado Olive Oil (I just use a mister) Cook the chicken through on med heat, then turn the heat up to high and add the veggies to stir fry. Once everything is browned to your liking, add 2-3 TBS of the Greek Vinaigrette, let it cook down a little (but not too much, you want your food moist!). And 1-2 TBS feta cheese. Turn off the heat and let the feta melt for a minute. Throw on 1/2 a diced avocado at the end. This was so good and yields 4-6 servings (depending on what stage you're at).
  6. First make a real effort to drink Water, slow slips. You have to get used to it. It's essential for your health, recovery, and weight loss. If you just can't get or keep it down, call your doctor.
  7. I had red welts around my incisions for a about 2 weeks after the glue fell off. The itching started around day 7 PO and was REALLY bad for a week. I had to postpone going back to work because Benadryl was the only thing that helped. I tried not to take it during the day, but at night it was an absolute must. The NP thinks it was an allergy. Good luck. I know what you're going through.
  8. I'm a very new member, too. I got into a tiff with someone for politely expressing my opinion, and she told me I didn't know what I was talking about because I don't have medical experience like her. But I do. Anyway, most of us are just looking for support and to help others, too. This whole process is stressful and scary and hard as hell. I hope you will reconsider giving it up, cause we're not all meanies, and I'm sure we could use your input, too.
  9. I'm amazed at how different the doctors' rules are across the country. I complained about missing my coffee and my lack of energy at my first pre-op (3 wks out), and the NP said I could drink 1 cup a day. Her only concern was that I not use it as a substitute for Water. Maybe you should check with your doc again?
  10. What did you post? Maybe someone will answer it now.
  11. Absolutely! How about Tigard High School, 9000 SW Durham Rd, Tigard? They have a soccer field with a track. Or if another part of town is more convenient, I can find something else. Any chance you could meet around 1:00 on Saturday?
  12. It will, just don't go looking. The best ones come around when you least expect it!
  13. I've had so little trouble eating solids that I probably went overboard. I'm back to focusing on protein and water, with veggies and a little fruit. It seems to be working. I don't think there's a one size fits all diet, we all have to find what we can live with and still be successful. If I have to give up my potatoes, then I have to be able to eat salad! LOL
  14. I like to go to the gym, but sometimes lack motivation after a tiring day at work. It'd me nice to have a partner. I'd be more apt to stick to a routine if someone is counting on me to go with them.
  15. I'm 5'3 and small boned, so I'd like to get down to 120, but is be happy at 135 if I'm fit.
  16. Put myself out there and meet new people, and join some athletic groups.
  17. My doctor said you run the risk of stretching your stomach out if you try to force the portion size. I got myself into this message by eating 'regular' portions instead of the smaller quantities our bodies really need. It is hard, though, if you're eating with other people. I feel like I'm either missing out on what they're eating, or they push me to have more.
