  1. This is heartbreaking. We all get this procedure knowing the risks and with such high hopes of a better healthier lives. My heart and prayers go out to Fred and his family.
  2. I had the gastric balloon before I was sleeved. I went through such a BAD episode of constipation that I happily drink the milk of magnesia. Do NOT get to that point. Just bite the bullet!
  3. I am a month out and still dont feel 100%. My incisions still hurt and I still dont feel like driving. I feel so inadequate. Sigh.
  4. Im doing milk of magnesia and it works great. I thought that first trip to the bathroom was going to be like giving birth but it went smoothly.
  5. I was sleeved 2/12. The first week I lost 12 lbs. then 4 lbs, then 3 lbs., and this week, 0. I wouldnt worry. Although my weightloss is slowing down, that is 20 lbs in one month!
  6. I was sleeved 2/12 and my lower right side still bothers me a lot. I have a horrible bruise on the incision and I feel that even looking at it hurts. I dont go out except for my doctor follow ups. Right now, I just want to go back to my healthy self more than lose weight. I really hope that this part is over soon
  7. Ugh. Those shakes make me gag. I ordered some PB2 to mix in there. Fellow sleevers said it really helps. What I have learned with protien is that we really need to bite the bullet. I have yet to try one that us tAsty, but we just have to keep on keeping on!
  8. You pull bald off pretty well!
  9. Welcome Djmelen. I was sleeved feb. 12 and Im still very sore and have trouble sleeping. Thankfully I have been keeping all my food down and right now Im on the puree stage. Hope you continue to do well!
  10. For casual outings, I bought a couple of leggings. Just make sure they dont go see-through when you put them on. Leggings take you through a couple of sizes!
  11. I asked a similar question the other day and fellow sleevers suggested PB2. Its a powdered peanut butter protien. You can mix it with protien shakes or in yogurt. I ordered it on amazon and it has great reviews. Good luck!
  12. Hi all. I am 5'3 and started out with 202 lbs. My heaviest has been 218. By most accounts, I am "light" overweight person. The reason I decided to get sleeved is because when I wasnt gaining weight, I was losing. Never in my life had I been at a stable weight. I did all types of diets, with doctors, atkins, hcg, weight watchers, just to name a few. All the yo-yo dieting was taking a toll on me. I was sleeved on 2/12, and its been a slow recovery for me, but I know I made the right choice.
  13. Hey guys! I ordered PB2 today on Amazon. Thanks so much for the suggestion!
  14. Pretty scary. I live in the DR and after much research and refrences I decided to get sleeved here. Mind you, this was not a decision I made to save money. It is cheaper to get sleeved here than in the US but I did it with the best doctor in the country. I have absolutely no complaints and I am SUPER fussy. If anyone wants any info on my expirience, msg me and I will be glad to share.
  15. I confess that I have thought that I get irritated when people say that I didnt need the surgery I confess that my recovery has been slow and I feel like an underachiever when I hear stories of people who are at work within 5 days post op (I am 3 wks out and still feel like crap) I confess that at this point, more than losing weight I want to go back to my normal life (no post op pain, sleep well, etc) I confess that I am afraid to fall in love with someone who wouldnt have given me the time of day pre weight loss I confess that I really want to wear a bikini I confesa that for the first time in my life, I have no sex drive whatsoever
  16. Hey guys! Im starting week 4. Any suggestions for protien filled snacks? Any thoughts on peanut butter?
  17. I think Im the worst post op patient ever. Tomorrow I will be 3 weeks out. I still walk around like an old lady because I have an incision with a nasty bruise on it and it HURTS. Getting up from bed is a pain and all through the night I go from my bed to the recliner because sleeping on my back is killing me. I do not leave the house unless its to see the doctor. Last week I ran into a girl at my doctors office. She was one week out and walking around in heels. Made me feel so bad. Just needed to vent guys!
  18. I also take levothroxine... I was sleeved 2/12 and havent taken it since. I am so afraid of swallowing a pill too!
  19. I was sleeved on feb. 12. Sleeping is sooo hard for me. I switch from my bed to an arm chair several times a night and my back is KILLING me from sleeping on it all night long. Do you sleep on your side yet?
  20. Wow! Thats AWESOME!
  21. I was sleeved 2/12, amd the first 2 weeks I had no energy at all. Now I am on creamed food and I have noticed the change in my energy. Just make sure you pack your creamy Soups right. For example, I do cream of broccoli, spinach, and watercress. Helps A LOT. Best of luck!
  22. Hi. Im 16 days out. I have been feeling like poop since yesterday but for other reasons. I have an incision on my lower right side that has started to hurt BAD. I went to the Doctor this morning and he said it was just the bruising around it (it also has the nastiest bruise ever). It hurt so bad that I even thought it could be my appendix. I cant wait to look back on these days...
  23. From what I have learned, you have to get your protien any way you can. The shakes taste yucky, but bite the bullet. Thats what Im doing. Are you taking biotin? Best of luck!
