  1. you guys rock! I got encouraged just reading the thread about sabotaging one's self... I've been on that boat (complacency) ... and now its time to get back in the water and SWIM my tail off! I gotta lose this weight... and I won't let CARBS take me down! I am challenging myself to lose 10 lbs between now and my next appt. in July... If I gotta go back to liquids for a few days... I'm gonna do it! I'm gonna double up on my exercise as well... walk at lunch... pool 3 days a week in the evenings... once again, its ON!!
  2. you can eat whatever you desire once you're back on regular foods... but do you WANT to eat the things that caused the gain? yes... you will still lose... but at a much slower rate (I'm a living witness) Trust your decision to have the surgery...
  3. May makes 6 mths for me... and I can eat alot... I thought I would not feel hunger... but this gnawing in my belly is only satisfied with food... I feel like I am eating every 4 hours like a baby...Yes, soft foods, I can eat quite a bit... but meats and eggs fill me quickly... normal? who's to say what's normal any more...
  4. You've lost more than double what I've lost since surgery... no... you're not a slow loser... LOL
  5. I'm a slow loser too...can the fast losers add me if they are using My Fitness Pal? I'd love to see your food diary... I think I am able to eat too much... or maybe I'm not eating enough... either way, I've not lost a pound since February... Just my luck that I'd be the one to screw this up too...
  6. couldn't have given any better advice! LOVE IT!
  7. I tried on a 2X shirt today... ALMOST THERE!!! (is that from the normal section of the store?)
  8. Ok ladies and gents... ... almost 5 mths out and only 37 lbs lost... ( seem to keep gaining and losing the same few lbs,,,,*sigh*) BUT I am in a size 18 top (down from a 28) and in size 24/26 jeans (down from a 32W pants) and in a size 22 dress (down from a 30W)... inches seem to keep leaving... but the scale is very discouraging... has anyone experienced this?
  9. I loved this!! gotta find some clever answers to this and other questions regarding my surgery...
  10. just keep swimming... just keep swimming... LOL
  11. I was off a full week including surgery.. My surgeon said I could have gone back Monday after the Wednesday I had surgery.... went back for 4 hrs a day the 2nd week after surgery...then 6 hrs a day the 3rd week...
  12. Wait on finding that new wine... my taste buds didn't go back to normal until I was nearly 3 mths out...
  13. yeah... packed laptop and books... didn't touch them...just wanted to rest...
  14. I waited 2 mths...I use a small sherry glass and sip very slowly...no adverse effects!
  15. just wanted to share a non scale victory moment with you guys... I love taking bubble baths... when my world slows down and I can take a moment... usually once the bath is over... and I unplug the tub... all the water in front of me goes out... when I get up there is more water behind me... when I stood up to get out the bath tonight... there was NO WATER! I didn't dam up the tub!! weird I know... but it felt good!
  16. I think every doctor and nutritionist have different guidelines... I am back on regular foods... and seriously... there is no "allowed" list... or "not allowed" list... For me... I work to eat healthy foods... to eat Protein rich foods... I walk... dance... use my dumbells and strength bands to work out... and I am STILL a slow loser... My advice... talk to your doctor and find out what he thinks... then do what works for YOU!
  17. its all so very confusing but... I know my cup size has grown and my band size is smaller... How? I have no idea...
  18. My surgeon says it can cause ulcers in the stomach... and because it has already been compromised... that wouldn't be a good thing... any NSAID medication can cause this...according to my doc... but I am finding that things are different from doctor to doctor...
  19. just make sure to avoid ANYTHING with asprin or Ibuprofen... nyquil and dayquil helped immensely when I caught a cold a few weeks past my surgery...

  21. yeah... band size is smaller, cup size bigger... gonna need to be measured again... spilling out again... *sigh* I guess there are worse problems...
  22. I packed a bag but used nothing but my phone charger and the gas x strips... the hospital provided so much stuff that I forgot I'd packed it...
