  1. I eat fruit all the time. I am 3.5 months out.
  2. I am going to start drinking shakes again. I stopped because I don't like them, but I need extra protein. I too am falling short daily and need to supplement.
  3. I like power crunch. They're similar to a sugar wafer consistency. I don't do very well with rhe very dense bars. I have had all flavors, but the double chocolate and the vanilla are my favorite.
  4. I was never offered a card, but on the few occasions I've politely asked to order off the senior or children's menu, I've never been turned down. Most times I order regular dishes and bring the leftovers home for additional meals.
  5. Best wishes to you all! See you on the sleeved side
  6. Has anyone made or had such made with quinoa instead of rice? I am dying for sushi, but don't want to so rhe whole rice thing. Thoughts?
  7. Could it be food poisoning? I would go to the doctor just to be safe. Hope you feel better.
  8. I did. I didn't Lise anything for almost 2 weeks at around 3 or 4 weeks.
  9. March 19th here. Surgery weight was 324 and size 30/32 clothes. I am down to 258 as of this morning, so 66 pounds down and now a size 22 clothes. My bra size went from a 46F to 42 DDD. I have had no food issues, I haven't had any issues with any food I have tried. I still haven't tried bread or rice or alot of sugar though. Haven't had alcohol yet either. My first goal is 200, which I hope to be at before Christmas. My final goal is 170, but I am sure that when I get there, I will set another one. So far for exercising it is walking. I want to do more when I start getting some energy. Pre-surgery for many years, I have had an anemia problem. For several years my HGB was 9 with Ferritin of 5 and saturation of 4. I was alway dizzy. I was sent to see a hemotologist for iron infusions. I am on #8 of 10 infusions. My dizziness is gone and I am getting some energy so I am going to add some more stuff to my exercise.
  10. My doctor told me that people are pretty much healed by 6 weeks, but some people have leaks that are discovered up to months after surgery. Those leaks are most of the time, there all along, but don't get discovered to later.
  11. Don't apologize, you have done nothing wrong. You gave your opinion. If someone "doesn't like you" for giving your opinion, they are no one you want in your life. If they can speak their opinion, so can you!
  12. My surgeon said mine took 40 minutes. He said my liver looked good and I bled very little.
  13. I think that is so wrong. They should be able to give you reasonable substitution options. My nut offered their products but gave you suggestions of products available in the stores as well. I ended up using all store bought items because I didn't have the $ to pay for their over priced products.
  14. No, you put the jello or pudding powder in dry, just out of the packaging.
  15. So u just have to post this because I know you will all understand. I am in desperate need of clothes for work that are not falling off me. I went to Goodwill because I can't justify spending lots of money on clothes that I will only wear for a month or so if best. I went and really didn't know what size I needed. I grabbed a couple sizes and went to the dressing room. Long story short. I fit in a 22! I was so elated! I went from a size 30 pants only 3 months ago, to a 22! And actually, I'd say a 20 in a few weeks. The 22 were not tight at all. Sorry, I just had to share because I know you will all understand! I can't remember a time that I had to go down a size, and not go up...
  16. I started eating a high fiber Cereal because it was mentioned to help constipation as well. I am glad I did. I eat fiber plus twice a week and it works like a charm. The carbs are high, but I adjust the rest of the day and it is worth it to not have BM issues.
  17. I love power crunch bars as well. I got a bunch of flavors at GNC but my local walmart had a 5 pack of vanilla (which are delicious) for under $6
  18. Can't say I have had any issues (thank god). I haven't even thrown up either. Down 64 pounds in 3 months. Had a pretty easy recovery. Only took the pain meds for a couple days post op to knock me out to sleep.
  19. Wow! What a jackass! You are beautiful, don't forget it. I had a friends brother, who was really cute, tell me in high school that if I lost weight, he would date me and said I had lots of potential. After crying for hours after he said that, I realized he was the one missing out, and decided I wasn't going to let it upset me anymore. I still to this day, have not told my friend whose brother it was.
  20. http://shine.yahoo.com/love-sex/im-overweight-boyfriends-not-big-freaking-deal-134800157.html The fact that this is even a topic of an article kind of irritates me. People love people for different reasons and you know if it was reversed i.e. a large man dating a thin woman, it wouldn't even be worth an article. Thoughts?
  21. I go out to eat with friends just as much as before. As a matter of fact, two days last week Alone. I still eat, just a quarter of what I would've ate. I choose the healthiest option and enjoy. All my friends know about my surgery, so there are never any questions or comments about the amount I eat. It's actually nice, because most of the time I have several meals in a doggy bag after words It is what you make of it, is the way I look at it. I am blessed to not have any problems so far. I feel so horrible for those who do.
  22. I had a hmg of 9 before surgery. Slow fe killed my stomach. I ended up needed iron infusions because supplements didn't work for me. I hope you find something that helps you.
