    All of my December sleevers...

I'm 5'8 and just knew that I would be so satisfied at 170. 170 quickly became 160 and now I'm down to 150 and still not satisfied. Loose skin is definitely an issue however, I think psychologically I'm still in that 230lb body. We are consciously taking care of our bodies physically and I fear we are neglecting to nurture the psychological.

    All of my December sleevers...

Just curious how my fellow December Sleevers are doing in the excess skin department. While I'm very excited to have lost 72lbs (sleeved 12-22/11) I'm discouraged to see the amount of excess skin especially under my arms and inner thighs. I'm guilty of not working out as I know It will help with toning. What's everyone else doing to combat the excess skin???

    Juicing

I've recently seen the documentary as well. However, I am concerned about not getting enough protein by pure juicing. So I am thinking about combining both. Juicing and protein drinks together. What do you guys think? No solids.

    Juicing

I'm about 12 weeks post surgery and was wondering what everyone's thoughts are about juicing. I still struggle with eating solids while protein shakes go down so easily. I was wondering if I juiced my vegetables with some fruit I would get a lot more nutrients and vitamins throughout the day. Way more than I could possibly get by just eating them solid. Does anyone know why this might be a bad idea?

    Middle eastern sleevsters

I used Dr Osama Taha. He is EXCELLENT!!! The hospital was Johar hospital in Cairo. It's a private hospital and everyone there was courteous and professional.

Hey!! I'm Egyptian but born and raised in NYC! I went to Cairo to get sleeved since I didn't really meet the criteria to be covered by my insurance. I was sleeved 12/22/12. I weight 225. Three weeks later I am 203.

    For the puree sleevers

I used these measurements to make it for my family and I ( 4 kids and hubby). I would say 10-12 servings since it lasted two days. However, for our size portions, at least a week so you might want to cut the proportions of the recipe in half. Not sure of the nutritional values. Sorry.

    For the puree sleevers

There aren't enough recipes for those of us still in the puréed phase. I thought I would share my favorite: Lentil Soup purée 1 cup of red lentils 4 cups of Water or ff chicken broth 2 stalks of celery (cut in pieces) 2 medium sized carrots ( cut in pieces) 1 tomato 1 onion 5 gloves of minced garlic Salt and pepper to taste Combine all ingredients and cook for about 20-25 minutes in a pot big enough to hold all the ingredients. Scoop a cupful at a time and purée in your blender. If your in the purée stage, purée well. If you're on soft foods, leave slightly lumpy. Delicious! Enjoy!

    12/22/12 Sleevers share your progress

Thanks for the clarification and also for the reminder not to drink before or after meals. It's hard for me to equate yogurt or cottage cheese as a meal. I need to keep reminding myself. Thanks!

Annie B. You're on mushy foods already?I'm still on full liquids. I'm afraid to even try purée at this time. How are you tolerating mushy foods?
  13. Weight day of surgery: 222 Weight 10 days later: 206.5 Haven't lost anything since then. Starting my third week and disappointed to still be at 206.5. 12/22/12 Sleevers share your progress
  14. I have just completed week two and have yet to have a bowel movement. Day 4 I passed this yellowish liquid and haven't had any other "activity" since then. I'm drinking my protein shakes, getting in about 50 grams of protein per day and trying to drink as much water as possible. Anyone experiencing anything similar?
