  1. Wow wow wow!! And I can tell you are a Florida girl!!! My house and cars and yard and landscaping looks just like yours. I'm in SWFL. Am I right? You're are so beautiful girl!!!
  2. How bad is dealing with the excess skin after weight loss? I'm afraid I will be hating the way I look in shorts, swimsuit, with my hubby. Is it a turn off or is it not that bad? I weigh 250 lbs and 5'4" now and 9 days away from being sleeved. I know I won't be able to afford body contouring surgery. Any suggestions on how to minimize the skin?
  3. I'm scheduled for my sleeve Feb. 4th. It can't get here soon enough. I am on day 5 of my pre op diet. The first day was the hardest. Now it's pretty easy! I have my pre op visit with my surgeon and anesthesiologist in Jan 31. Super Bowl I get clear liquids! Go team Go!!!!????????☀????
  4. God bless you for posting this. I am 9 days away from being sleeved and scared anxious excited and at times wonder why I'm doing this. I weigh 250 lbs today ( lost 8 this week on my pre op diet). I just don't want to chicken out at the last minute. I wonder constantly what my life will be like 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, 3 years later and you answered alot. It's like God knew I needed someone to post this and that someone was you. So thank you cold snowy day for allowing her time to sit down and make a difference in someone's life today. Take care and congrats on a job well done.
  5. My approval took about 2 1/2 weeks with UHC but it was over the holidays so it backed them up a bit, I heard it usually take 1-2 weeks in most cases.
  6. I like mama too! Maybe I will change her name after I see how she is treating me....and maybe it will be mans name after all!!
  7. I have to do a pre op diet. I'm currently on day 4. The first day was the hardest but its pretty easy now. Besides I'm losing weight already. Down 8 lbs since Monday.

  9. My sleeve won't be born until February 4 but I already named her Bella. Can't wait. Bought a beautiful crocheted top in size large tonight to work to fit in. Congrats to you. You're gorgeous girl!!

  14. Traci, that is wonderful advice. Thank you. I am being sleeved on Feb 5. I very nervous and it's hard to not second guess this procedure but I need to just focus on the outcome. I'm copying your response and sticking it everywhere to stay on track. Thank you so much and God bless you both!

  18. I completely understand. I start my liquid diet tomorrow and sleeved on Feb. 5. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I wish I didn't have to do this and I was naturally skinny but I think God makes us this way for a reason. Good luck to you and congrats.

  23. Hi, I am asked this question do much by my friends and family. Is there anyone on this forum that has had their sleeve very long? If not are you aware of any long term studies? I know this has not been done very long in the U.S. but what about in other parts of the world? I'm just curious on the long term effects and what is my life going to be like 10-20 years from now? Thanks!
  24. You are a true inspiration. My surgery date is feb 5. Thank you for telling your story. I too have alcoholism in my family (my siblings) and it hurts to watch them through their lives away. Fortunately i have a wonderful supportive husband who wants me healthy. God bless you and your husband.
  25. Me too but I'm 50 ( and fabulous) and have a 22 year old son now. My sleeve is Feb 5th. Woohoo. I currently weigh 258. My goal is 140.
