  7. I have always been hot, freezing everyone else out... Well not after surgery, I have been fully dressed everyday, including jacket or sweatshirt and sometimes a blanket. My husband was sure something was wrong. But 8 weeks out I'm not back to normal but able to got without jacket in the house.

  11. Have you tried low fat cottage cheese you can add sugar free peach preserves. I love2 T vanilla greek yogurt low carb with 1T peanutt butter this is my ususual breakfast. Also the Buffalo chicken from the sharing recipes post is great. The canned chunk chicken with wedge of laughing cow cheese, 1/4 c mozzerella and tobasco sauce warmed just enough to make it gooey.... Also Shelly's baked ricotta from The world according to eggface is also very good, it's like lasanga minus the pasta. Tuna salad, egg salad... I'm still eating about 3 T of protein source per meal, 2-3 supplements according to my protein needs. I'm 6 weeks out today and my nut. said I could increase to 2-3 oz protein and 1 oz non-starchy veg and/or fruit at week 8. Hope this gives you some ideas. And I can't handle the shakes either, but I really like protein hot choc. and some of the drinks and protein soups.
  12. What stage are you in? I am in Stage 2 Pureed, it is on my menu list. I just wondered it we had to puree it or if it is soft and gooey enough to go down. My guidelines say cottage cheese consistency or pureed. Can't wait to try it , it sounds great.

  17. So Sorry to hear about your experience, Wished I could hug your neck also. You are strong and will do good.
  18. How are you mixing your shake? I am having trouble getting alot of air in shakes and they foam up. Are you using blender or shaker bottle?
  19. No you are not nuts, I almost got freaked out too. But I just prayed (hope this doesn't affend you) and made peace with what ever happened would be ok. The first thing I remember (besides the pain) was my 2 beautiful daughters standing over me and my husband.
  20. Try some G2 or some other juice with some low carbs and try drinking 1 oz every 15min. that's what my MD has me doing. The grape G2 has been my stand by when I didn't want anything else.
  21. I had a lot of gas and constipation also. Was slow about passing gas in hospital so they gave me Milk of Magnesia (yuck!!) 5th day post op finally used suppository. Much better today. Its a terrible subject but I have had problems all my life. Was hoping it would get better not worse.
  22. Hi! Glad to hear all the positive comments and support. I had my sleeve 2/18 so I am 5 days post-op. I am also having hard time drinking all my liquids/protein. I have a little pain every once in a while when I take a sip that is too big (I think). Also, first thing in the morning, not sure what thats about. But so glad to be on my way to a healthier life.

  25. Hello everyone, I have been visiting VST for a while, just now introducing myself. I have pretty much the same story as everyone else. Yo-yo dieted most of my life, weight loss expert that can tell you how to loose it, just not keep it off, emotional eater, etc. But in August of 2012, I went to a seminar at New Life Bariatric Center in Knoxville Tn. and met Dr. Boyce. My VSG journey started then. Other than insurance requirement of 10% wt. loss and one denial from insurance it has been a fairly easy process. And finally I have a date Feb. 18, 2013. Yeah!!!I am so excited,.,.,, nervous at the same time. Worried about all the changes for me and my family, how to cook for them, eat at family get togethers etc. I really enjoy reading all your positive and helpful info. so any pointers would be great. Thanks
