1. Congrats to all February sleevers. Everyone is doing and looking great. Today is my anniversary, I am down 78lbs from surgery and 83 from my heaviest. Its been a slow go but a go none the less. I have watched everyone who lost 100 and above and been jealous but it will come for me in due time. People see me and can't believe how good I look. Strangers that see me workout tell me I'm looking good. HW 331 SW 320 GW 246 The compliments keep motivated. I workout 7 days a week for 1 and a 1/2. Some days I go twice. I can run on the treadmill without being winded. I climb stairs without being winded. I run upstairs without being winded. No need for a seat belt extender. My shoes feel loose. I can see my collar bones. My clothes dont fit. I have been wearing 3 pairs of jeans that my daughter gave me and those are getting loose. plan to go shopping in the next 90days. Today my ego took a hit, got fitted for a bra; was wearing 46dd she measured me a 40ddd or 42dd. I fit the 40ddd, it was tight with lots of extra skin hanging over the top. I was hoping for better. I guess I have some work to do in the next 90days.
2. I want to pamper myself for my progress. I wanted to buy myself a Pandora charm for every 10lbs I've lost. For my 1 year I'm going to treat myself to a new wardrobe and shoes (including work out gear and sneakers). I don't want to go crazy because I am not at goal yet. Still trying to figure out what I will do when I make it to goal.
3. This was so encouraging. I thought I was the only slow loser. I had surgery February 28th ; I have lost 80lbs and am 50lbs from goal. The weight is coming off slow and steady. In October I started exercising every day but I can't seem to find the right foods.

Hair (Need Ideas )

I work out 7 days. I workout hard and sweat a lot. I sweat in my head. I need advice what I can do to keep my hair. I don't want to make my hair my excuse not to workout(which I've done in the past). I also want to be able to swim when the weather permits or on vacation. I need to keep my hair up for work and just daily maintenance. I used to wear a doobie but with my intensity it doesn't keep. I've worn Senegalese twist but my hair grows very fast and after a month I looked like a chia pet with twist. I have sew-in now and I hate it. I am leaning towards dreads but am nervous. My hair is a decent length and I worry about having to start all over if I don't like the dreads. What does everyone do about hair?
5. I am happy i found this thread. I am a ssssllllloooooowwwww loser. I was sleeved in February and the scale just got to the 60lb mark. I get so jealous of the people who lose much faster. I think I held myself up not getting my protein like I should. I started the atkins diet hoping to improve my weight loss. I go to the gym 7 days a week. If Im going to struggle to lose the weight I may as well be well toned as I do it.

1 1/2 years out... any questions

Congratulations on your weight loss. Did you keep track of your month to month loss if so what were you averages per month. I am 7 months out and have only lost about 55lbs. I work out every day, cardio 7 days and strength 3-4 days. I eat okay except for my recent love affair with ice cream. I do notice the inches melting away.

feb 2013 sleevers weigh in

Sorry hit send to soon. I noticed you have a large tattoo on your forearm in your before pic. In your after pic its not there. Did you get it removed. If so was it because it changed after surgery?

Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!

I am in the same boat. I've only lost 47lbs. I've done everything and decided to stop and let nature take its course. I eat right and exercise 3 times a week. I get all my Water and then some. The measuring tape is moving well and I have challenged myself to build more muscle and lose more inches. I am willing to be a thick woman but I need to be a fit woman.

Developing acid reflux after VSG

Thank you for posting. I never had reflux or gerd prior to surgery. I am almost 5 months post op. Lately I've been waking up choking on acid. Last night it was so bad it went into my nose. It burns so bad, I'm afraid to clear my throat. When it was in my nose I thought it was bleeding. I almost afraid to go to sleep; as it only happens when I sleep.
