TrophyWife got a reaction from castiel in Hiccups when Hungry?
That's been happening to me. I thought it was a full thing, but I am finding it to be my signal that it is time to put something in the tank. It's like learning to eat all over again. I'm still a little confused, but getting it.

Earlier today, someone posted a link to a WLS website that they believe could be a useful resource to those of us who have been sleeved.
    Here's the link: http://www.bariatriceating.com/
I poked around it and think it a great place to reset your course. I liked the site so much, I bookmarked it, even though I have a plan that is working for me right now. They provide all sorts of nutritional and eating plan information. They also provide guidance for the post op eating stages. You may find some of their information helpful in getting you back on track. Good luck.

TrophyWife got a reaction from misslady in May 2013 Sleevers!
Im 2 days out and so far so good. Pretty sore, but having a pretty good evening. Water still a challenge, but had hernia fixed during surgery and everything is really tight. Should get easier as swelling goes down. Better days ahead. Good luck all.

TrophyWife got a reaction from gibson_girl in Someone help with some support for the pre-op diet.
I am day 2 of 14. I am so glad that my pre diet guidelines are to stay under 40grams of carbs and that is all. Harder then you would think, but I am not hungry. Took forever to shop today though. Labels, smabels! They gave me a weeks worth of menus. So to save my sanity I am going to follow that and then mix and match next week. Lots of lean meat, egg beaters, cheese and thank goodness, low carb bread, tortillas, and some fruit. Sorry to hear some of you have such restrictive diets. i can only imagine the will power. You all ROCK! Good luck and best wishes with your surgeries.

TrophyWife reacted to nervousnellie in Got approved--now it's "real"
I was so excited about the thought of surgery. I have researched for years and was comfortable with my decision. Then, I got approved. It became so real (I was somewhat doubtful I would get approved) and I am so anxious all of the sudden. I don't think I am nervous about the actual procedure (my husband is a dr. and I have a lot of faith in modern medicine), but I am scared of the major changes I know are coming in my life. I do not know anyone who has had weight loss surgery to talk with. I am going to my first support group this week, so I am sure that will be helpful as well.
Thanks for letting me vent....I think it is somewhat therapeutic just to type out my worries!

I am located in Bothell. I got my surgery date yesterday. May 2nd at Puget Sound Surgery Center, in Edmunds. My first surgeon was Dr. Crouthamel, but he has taken a medical leave so Dr. Billing will preform my surgery. I am taking some time off from my job post surgery(work nights) and am looking forward to attending support group. My friend who is a nurse at Overlake mediates the support groups over there and she has invited me to attend there so I am sure they would have any who would want to attend. Would love to find a walking friend in my area. I am on the Mill Creek/ Woodinville side of Bothell (Maltby area). Looking forward to being part of the losing team.

TrophyWife got a reaction from Afrodite82 in Pear shaped vs Apple shaped?
we usually lose the weight that we gained last first. I lost a lot of weight a few years ago and I always joked that I felt light I was shimmying out of a fat suit and it got caught at my hips. I have always been pear shaped and working with a trainer really helped me tone the tummy and hip areas. But I had a really hard time getting rid of that hip/tummy area. i also was a C cup when i was younger and got up to a DD at my heaviest. I lost down to a D/C cup and very happy with my proportions. I think we are lucky and may lose less in our chest because of our smaller upper body. Thanks for great bra options and augmentation.

I can totally understand where you are coming from on both sides. I would never say I don’t have a food addiction or emotional response with food. However, I have been very diligent with diets and exercise numerous times and had such poor results, I didn’t have it in me to keep it going. I had a trainer for a very long time and followed a very strict diet set by a nutritionist and after several months the trainer told me that there was just no point in continuing because I had only lost 3 pounds and clearly wasn’t trying. I had worked so hard and it was so devastating, food addiction here I come.

TrophyWife reacted to onelessfatgirl in today I resisted...
Well, it's the first day of my pre op liquid diet. So far today I've resisted...
    1) a fluffy, chocolate cupcake my coworkers just left in front of me during a meeting
    2) getting starbucks at lunch
    3) a chocolate covered doughnut my son only ate half of and then left next to me
I have done SO GOOD today! It's only the first day so I know it'll get worse before it gets better. But, one of my mantras is 'one day at a time.'
So, what are you proud of today?

Why should I feel obligated to tell you?
Why should you feel entitled to ask?
It is my choice, not yours, what I elect to explain about my private life.
I don't have "secrets." I have privacy. And that is my right.
I did have someone ask me yesterday why I was not eating the pre-Thanksgiving Breakfast that was served at work. I said it was not on my nutritional plan. They then asked what I was doing to lose weight. I told them that I eat Protein first and exercise. That is truthful. Should I then launch into a detailed disclosure of everything that I did/do and why? Hell no.

You are seriously messing with your hormones losing that much weight in such a short amount of time. Every time one of your little fat cell dies it dumps estrogen into your system and yep here comes aunt flo. It will level out over time. I have dealt with this before. Birth control may help and you should talk to your doc about it. It is awesome and sucks at the same time.

TrophyWife got a reaction from tonid2328 in New to the whole process, Aetna, What can I expect?
I have Aetna also and just posted a post on my insurance frustration. Long story short. I lost some weight a few years ago and it dropped my BMI to 35 and after a injury gained back some of it and now am at 46, my highest is 51BMI. Well found out today that I am pre diabetic, and also may be denied because during my 2 years of weight history mine fell into the end of my lowest weight and shows that even though I have been heavy for 25 years, I currently have not be fat long enough...awesome. We're hoping to not get denied, because I have completed everything and have 60 days left of 3 month supervised diet. Im ready to go and this just makes me sick to my stomach. Hope everything goes well with your claim and it goes through will help raise my spirits

TrophyWife got a reaction from MrsGina in Any post op patients had gallbladder surgery prior to vsg?
I am having surgery in April 2013 and I had gallbladder surgery about 8 years ago and the incision herniated. I had it repaired about 3 years ago with a large mesh patch. My surgeon took a look at my incision and said that it shouldn't be more than a 15 min. problem. He said surgery would take a little bit longer as they would be planning on encountering scar tissue, but shouldn't be an issue. Hope that helps if it is still relevant.
