  1. I could eat more when I was on liquid and purees The minute I switched to solid regular food that stopped. I often can barely get down 1to2 oz. of protein and only about 1/2 cup of anything with substance. Some days are different then others for me. Today I can't seem to get much of anything before I feel full and is a challenge to eat enough, but I just listen to my body and adjust what I eat. Today more soup and protein shakes and tomorrow maybe meat will feel good. You're not to far out so be patient sometimes what you can eat changes overnight.

    Hiccups when Hungry?

That's been happening to me. I thought it was a full thing, but I am finding it to be my signal that it is time to put something in the tank. It's like learning to eat all over again. I'm still a little confused, but getting it.

    May 2013 Sleevers!

Im 2 days out and so far so good. Pretty sore, but having a pretty good evening. Water still a challenge, but had hernia fixed during surgery and everything is really tight. Should get easier as swelling goes down. Better days ahead. Good luck all.
  4. I have read on here before that someone had submitted WW records and they excepted them. I also was prepared to use mine if I had needed to, but got lucky and was approved first go. I think it may have been caligirl?, but can't remember. I think it may depend on insurance. Best of luck.

    Rogaine?

I too have had hair loss over the last few years. I am most concerned over hair loss. I would love to have information on Rogaine sucess. I started Biotin yesterday hoping to head it off. My stylist tells me she will give me the greatest styles to minimize the look of thinning. She is my hero.
  6. I'm May 2nd! Day three on low carb pre diet. so far so good. Need to get my stuff ordered. Good luck all!
  7. I am day 2 of 14. I am so glad that my pre diet guidelines are to stay under 40grams of carbs and that is all. Harder then you would think, but I am not hungry. Took forever to shop today though. Labels, smabels! They gave me a weeks worth of menus. So to save my sanity I am going to follow that and then mix and match next week. Lots of lean meat, egg beaters, cheese and thank goodness, low carb bread, tortillas, and some fruit. Sorry to hear some of you have such restrictive diets. i can only imagine the will power. You all ROCK! Good luck and best wishes with your surgeries.

    Any seattle sleevers ?

I am located in Bothell. I got my surgery date yesterday. May 2nd at Puget Sound Surgery Center, in Edmunds. My first surgeon was Dr. Crouthamel, but he has taken a medical leave so Dr. Billing will preform my surgery. I am taking some time off from my job post surgery(work nights) and am looking forward to attending support group. My friend who is a nurse at Overlake mediates the support groups over there and she has invited me to attend there so I am sure they would have any who would want to attend. Would love to find a walking friend in my area. I am on the Mill Creek/ Woodinville side of Bothell (Maltby area). Looking forward to being part of the losing team.

    Pear shaped vs Apple shaped?

we usually lose the weight that we gained last first. I lost a lot of weight a few years ago and I always joked that I felt light I was shimmying out of a fat suit and it got caught at my hips. I have always been pear shaped and working with a trainer really helped me tone the tummy and hip areas. But I had a really hard time getting rid of that hip/tummy area. i also was a C cup when i was younger and got up to a DD at my heaviest. I lost down to a D/C cup and very happy with my proportions. I think we are lucky and may lose less in our chest because of our smaller upper body. Thanks for great bra options and augmentation.

    anybody eles with Aetna insurance?

I can't remember Caligirl, did you say if you had any co morbidities? My insurance coordinator was not sure if they (aetna) would want to wait to get my 3rd full month diet report before making decision. Appointment scheduled for the 17th. Will still follow up with her tomorrow. Taking forever and I will be upset if she has received any info and not let me know. It was a week later then they told me when they filed my paperwork. Frustrating.

    anybody eles with Aetna insurance?

Congratulations!! I am 12 days submitted and still no word. Did you find out through insurance or through your surgeon? I have considered calling insurance, but the nurse @ surgery center said to wait, but it is killing me. So excited for you.

    anybody eles with Aetna insurance?

Ok, I have a question about everyones aetna approval experience. I have had my paperwork submitted to Aetna for approval 2 weeks ago today. I am right on the edge of the approval requirements and in my opinion could go either way. I am so on edge and reading things into everything. Taking so long because they are considering all options... haven't gotten to me yet.....needing more info... on and on. So here is my latest. Friday I received a letter from Aetna and could hardly breath as I opened it. Inside was a letter telling me that a nurse would probably be contacting me to discuss how to use my insurance benefits to better my health. And in the part that says why they are sending it to you is several explanations, recent claims, preparing for surgery, etc, etc. So did anyone else get one of these on their journey to approval? Is the any signifigance to this or is it just something kicked out of a computer? I am going crazy waiting for the other shoe to drop. GET ON WITH IT ALREADY!
  17. are you super hydrated. Drinking lots of fluid will increase your blood volume and can make your blood flow awesome! If you have had an active morning your blood pressure could be elevated and going strong. Call if it is just making you crazy.
  18. Hi, I'm pre op, but remember fondly having my gallbladder out. I had similar gas pain in my shoulders, very painful. I've had several lap surgeries and my gb was the most uncomfortable. slept sitting up in recliner for several nights. Feel better soon!

    Thrush after antibiotics

yep, have this happen to me almost every time I have antibiotics. Thank goodness goes away fairly quickly. I usually get a yeast infection also. My Dr. always makes sure I have Diflucine whenever I take it. You may also like the liquid Acidopholis in the the natural section of you local grocery store usually in the cooler. The strawberry is good and a couple Tbl spoons a day makes a big difference.

    Denied by Aetna

Ahhh I don't want to hear that. I just submitted my papers for approval Monday. I also lost over 100lbs about 5 years ago and kept most of it off for about 3 years, but have regained about 70 of it back over the last 2 years due to a foot injury, depression and just life. i was just diagnosed pre diabetic and have knee and foot pain. I am just sick with worry that I will be denied, but my insurance coordinator and assured me that if I am denied we have options. I have, even at my lowest weight been over 210lbs. Would you mind sharing if you had other health issues and what your low weight was. I hope that you get approved. I hear that people are successful with the peer to peer review. Best of luck.

    Monthly w/ Sleeve?

Do the ablation. Best thing I ever did. I had it done a week after having a gallbladder hernia fixed and I really had no discomfort. It will make a world of difference with my periods and minor pain far less then your period.

    anybody eles with Aetna insurance?

That makes me nervous. I to got down to a BMI of about 31 and now I am back to a BMI of 46 after a 2 1/2 yr gain. That would crush me if I am denied and my appeal is denied. I am trying really hard not to be to pessimistic about it, but it just so stressful.

By the way. I live in WA, but my husbands company is out of California, so I would think is may be similiar to what you have.

    anybody eles with Aetna insurance?

I have Aetna insurance and have just finished my pre approval requirements and am waiting to see if I get approved (fingers crossed). Aetna required 3 consecutive months of supervised diet/fitness and MD visits and also 2 yrs of weight history and any co-morbitities. The last is my big if. I lost weight a few years ago and worry that it put me under the high end of BMI. I have put weight on over this last year and was the reason behind my surgery decision now. Ironically the fact that I am to healthy, even at a 46 BMI, may require me to work harder to get approval. I should be hearing back my the middle of the week and will check back in with my status. Good luck. Aetna has always been great to us and easy to work with. I hope that trend continues and I hope we both have good luck.
