    July 26 plastics... Updates:)

Here is my two month post plastics update. I feel Great!! I have had a full recovery, nothing that is hurting or bothering me. The only thing is I have come down with a sinus infection and a cold.... So coughing does pull on my stomach muscles. It doesn't "hurt" per say but it is not comfortable either. My swelling is minimal but do have days that are a bit more. On those days I just put my garment back on and it seems to help with it. I also will sleep with it on at night especially if I have done alot of activities that day. I have lost about 10lbs since surgery ( though this is sd not to be the norm... But I have also been having issues with blood sugars and eating scares me..... Never in my life had I thought I would say that...:/) My scars are slightly fading but that takes a long time... I have not had any issues with seromas or my scars becoming raised. So over all I am super happy with the results. I did have a couple of internal stitches pop out of the skin (the ends of the knots) but they disappeared within a week or so. My family dr sd that it was normal. I am still numb along my incisions but am starting to get some feeling back. The only thing I did not think about was the psychological aspect. Even though I have done alot of self work... And thought I would be happy with the results... But I have taken the focus off the areas that I thought were the problem and now focus on other areas I did not notice before. ( like the bulges of back fat... And my arms:/ ) so I recommend that everyone is sure to do the mind work before plastics. I can see why so many people have so many procedures done. 160lbs Size small shirt and small yoga pants

    Dumping?

Ok so I finally got the actual numbers of my fasting blood test... 2.6 mmol after two hours. I have not experienced this before so am hoping someone can tell me what the best way to deal with this is. I did pick up sugar tablets to carry with me. I have tried googling what the best way to eat with the sleeve is but am really confused with no guidelines on what not to eat. Any suggestions on the best way to control things are.

    Dumping?

I know I react now to any dairy so have been dairy free for months. As well as thinking gluten and have went glueten free after I did my blood work. The problem for me is that I can eat something one day and be fine, and the next the exact same meal and react. My dr now says to not just do a exclusionary diet, but to go back to the very very basics and start with only eating rice for a week and add one food back per week..... Sounds easy... But I'm still reacting:/ this is why I'm thinking it is dumping syndrome. After the VGS I had extreme acid reflux that they had to go in with a scope and clean my stomach out.... Then I had another scope in the spring which showed nothing wrong in my stomach but the duadeum had what they called "chronic swelling" they gave me antibiotics for that but never checked after to see if it was still there. So I'm scared of food:/ the whole idea of having sugar pills terrifies me as I know that sugar already makes me react... So why purposely do that to myself... But then again going into that coma state scares me too. I have never had experience with blood sugars so I have no idea what to do. And the dr is really no help at this point. Lol

    Dumping?

Ok I was not sure where to post this.. But I was sleeved may 2012 have lost 95lbs, and had my plastics done July 2013. The problem is that as much as they say dumping is not an issue with the sleeve, is there anyone experiencing it? I have talked to my family dr and he thinks it could be. But I'm his first patient to undergo the sleeve. My symptoms. Within 15 min of eating (at least 3-4 times a week and each meal in that day) I start feeling sick to my stomach, hot, my sugars get really high, and I'm running to the bathroom and don't dare leave the house. Then within an hour I get so tired that I go into a coma like state where it is impossible to wake up my brain barely is awake, but can't move if I tried. I get so cold that 10 blankets won't warm me up and my sugars drop really low. Once I do wake up I have to eat right away or I'm soooo shaky and foggy. I did the two hour blood sugar test, and within the 15 min I ended up sick and taken to the emergency for 4 hours. The results were exactly what I was seeing at home. High sugars and then a full drop. So the outcome was that they think dumping syndrome and to carry sugar pills :/ now my concern is if I don't eat I feel fine ( but that's not healthy either) it doesn't matter what I eat and it still causes the same reaction (protein, fruit, veg, carbs anything..... I don't eat much sugar anyway as I am not fond of the taste) Another dr sd that he thinks maybe my body hasn't adjusted the insulin levels after weight loss. I'm not sure but I do know I don't like feeling this way and it has only started after having the sleeve. Now I could be the small percent of people that experience it. Lol

    July 26 plastics... Updates:)

I did go alone, and my own fears were unfounded. Lol. There are other people having surgeries within the time you are there. It is easy to spot in the mornings going down for breakfast.... The ones that are slow, stiff, bandaged or carrying drains. Lol. Everyone is so friendly. So connecting is so nice. I would have no fears of going alone again. You are safe and well taken care of. Monterrey is not the stereotypical part of Mexico you often think of. The area you are in is clean, upper class type area. Large houses, large hotels (bigger than my little town and cleaner. Lol), new cars, streets are clean. ... I have been to a few different places in Mexico over the past few years and I def felt the most at ease, safe and really surprised at how modern the area was. I had connected with the dr via email. The dr is Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico you can google him as I don't have the info on me right now. (I believe it's the Medical Tourism site he uses) I researched him for a good 8 months and was very happy with his reviews, the amazing work he does and of course now my results. His wife is the anesthesiologist and is very sweet. Dr S responds to all the emails and so you are getting his professional opinion right away. No middle man makes it way easier and faster to communicate directly with him.

As each person may require different procedures depending on what their body needs for PS. My cost was $13,700. Again that included a lower body lift, small inner thigh lift, breast lift and augmentation, 12 days hotel, hospital stay (all medications, OR room and staff, anesthetic...ect.) $600 towards my flights, transportation from airport, to hotel, to dr, to hotel and to the airport. The hotel also had Breakfast included and some evening snack/meals. It also included all post op medications, gauze, ointments and two sets of compression garments. The dr and nurse came to the hotel everyday as well which is a part of the package. What was not included... lunch and some evening meals (however being sleeved and having the Tt with abdominal tightening didn't leave me with much of an apatite anyway .... And I just grabbed an extra muffin at breakfast to do my lunch and had brought Protein drinks with me). Tips and gratuities are seperate as well. I had all of my procedures done at once. As Dr S uses twilight sedation with a spinal you can have longer surgeries with less complications after.
