  1. Pregnancy after VSG....How am i gonna avoid gaining back the weight when i am so hormonal and hungry???

  2. I know that I may never have lost this much weight without having had surgery. I am positive i could NEVER of lost this much weight this quickly without having had surgery. However, having said that, I am so impatient to get to goal that I feel as if the scale is against me. I became used to dropping 5 to 7 lbs a week... loosing 1 to 2 a week is killing me. And I am scared. I am scared because some of my "cravings" that were gone for so long have returned. I know I have to maint...

    calories

I am 6 months out and my nutritionist still wants me at 500 calories. I work out 5 days a week (run/walk 3 miles a day + an hour step class twice weekly + weightlifting 2x a week). I try to stay at the 500 but i tend to get lightheaded during my workouts when I do. So,because of that fact, I average, more often than not at around 600 to 700 calories a day. I think you have to take serious consideration of the recommendations of the professionals, but you still have to listen to your own body and it's needs. The best part about having had the sleeve surgery is that now I am at a point when I am able to listen to my body; instead of listening to my mind and it's constant chatter or "i want chocolate, i want pizza, i want..."

    Skin skin skin...

I am 33 years old. MY starting weight was 360 and I am 5'10''. I have lost about a hundred pounds in three months. I exercise often and try to get all my fluids. I still have some skin issues but I have noticed that they are in places that I previously had stretched my skin from weight gain. (example: under my arms) Honestly, it is not yet a serious "issue" for me and I have noticed that places that seem a bit "saggy" one day have improved and tightened up a bit in the weeks to follow. I do not think there is a clear cut answer to your very valid question. I question, I might add, that weighed heavy on my mind prior to my surgery. Everybody's experience is different because there are way too many factors involved. I truly hope that all goes well for you in your journey. Good luck.
  8. momto6ix is just trying to rev everybody up. She probably enjoys the drama. If she were truly seeking understanding she would listen more and insult less. Nobody needs to explain any further why WLS is necessary or not. What's the point? She doesn't want to hear your opinion, she merely wants to see her own opinion repeated back to her. To those who have struggled and have found new hope through the VSG, congratulations! Enjoy every moment of this wonderful life.

    To Tell Or Not Tell

I told everybody and anybody that asked me---all about my surgery. Mostly I got curiosity seekers that had a lot of questions for me. I have not seen any negativity thus far. I think being open and honest is best because then it shows that you are confident in the decision that you made. However, some people are not comfortable sharing such a personal experience. That is also totally understandable. Good luck with whichever route you decide to go.
  10. 12 weeks out and I have hit a stall. DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!

  11. I have lost 79lbs since my surgery on Jan 10th. I walk 1-3 miles per day on the treadmill.

    January 2013 Sleevers?

I haven't posted on this thread since prior to my surgery on Jan 10th 2013. I have been following everybody else's progress, however, and was inspired to share my own. My highest weight was 360, on the day of my surgery I was at 335, and today I am weighing in at 281. That is 79lbs lost so far. I still have a very long way to go till I reach goal, but I believe that choosing wls was the best decision of my life. Good luck everyone! I am rooting for each and every one of you

    Weight loss for 300+ sleevers!

My highest weight was 360. I lost 20+ lbs on the pre-surgery liquid diet. My surgery was on 1/10/13 and I am down 57 lbs total (including my pre surgery loss. It has been much slower the last couple of weeks but my NUT said that is perfectly normal because my body is recovering from the trauma of the surgery. It is a long process but it is worth it.
