    Can't stop losing!

I'm just the opposite. 4 months out and only lost 20 pounds. That was in first month. Nothing since. I feel like crap. How about you? Soooo wish I hadn't done this!

    October Sleevers - Who else

Don't do it!!! I'm 4 months out and only lost 20 pounds. So dizzy and weak, can hardly function. Only thing I can eat is protein. When I splurge on fruits and veggies, it's at the cost of getting my proteins in. Even though I live on those disgusting protein supplements, my labs show I'm muscle wasting. I would give anything to have my life back. Being fat is much better than living like this.
  3. I lost a lot of hair but had thick mane so it's OK. Worse is the fact that 4 months out have only lost 20 pounds, feel dizzy and unable to function most of day. Two patients had same problem but I didn't listen. Soooooo obsessed with not being fat. I'm close to suicide to be over this. DON'T DO iT!! Before the surgery, I enjoyed life. Now I just hope I die in my sleep or hope a crazy sniper kills me

    Gas.... and flying

Hit the send button too soon. It was weeks before the gas made any noise. I was used to just releasing it without noise or smell. THEN I took my 10 yo grandchild out or her birthday. Felt some pressure and let it go. Wouldn't you know, this time it had noise and lots of it. Everyone in the restaurant turned to me and of course my grandchild was in tears laughing!

    Gas.... and flying

Take gas x for comfort, but I had no noisy gas relief for several days. It all just reabsorbed

    Frozen protein shakes?

I put injury unflavored in soups etc. can't tell it's there. Frozen is better than room temp for those god awful others

Does risk of leak ever go away?

My friend had a leak at 3 months. I girl on this site had a leak at 1 yr. in both cases the leak was already there but very minuscule so took awhile to show up. The staple line takes two years to heal microscopically. My surgeon said its unlikely to happen after the first 2 to 3 months
  9. Call his office and ask. I called about my 1 week post op check and they told me if I had no problems I could wait

    Horrible dream!

At 1 week out a friend came to visit. I made her some guacamole and without thinking tasted it for spice adjustment. Thank goodness I realized it and spit it out. I will try the listening trick.

The day has come and panic attacks....

My surgery was 2 weeks ago. I got out of bed in preop and told them to take out the IV, I had changed my mind. My Dr had to come talk me down. He let me stay 3 days and I was more than ready to go home. Almost no pain! You will be fine!

    difficulty drinking

May 15 here. At 3 days post op I could only get in 2 ounces a day so was still in hospital. Then on day four 30 ounces then on day 5 no problem at all. It just took time for the swelling to go down. The nurse told me to take my pain meds even though I wasn't feeling pain, because my stomach was. She was right. My stomach stopped rebelling. Good luck! Everyday it gets a little better. At 9 days out, I am finally not regretting the surgery so much.

    Gained 3 lbs

It took me a year to get the courage to o the surgery, so have been following this website for quite awhile. Your problem comes up frequently and it always seems to resolve itself. It must have. Been a real shock tho!

    Are you sick?

Your doctors office are not very kind. Of course you got sick. You had surgery in flu and cold season. You were in the hospital where the worst of it is. Your immune system is way down because of surgery. Then you spend avdaynor two in the hospital that is inundated with sick people

    Alcohol

OMG just pull up this thread and you will be inundated with emotional crap. One girl claimed her doctor laughed at her for any concern, others said their doctors went from 3 weeks to 1 year. Guess no one knows. My friend is starting liquids preop and asked me if she could classify gin and wine as liquids. LOL
  18. Incision redness is not a sign of a leak, so take that worry away. At this far out it is most likely a stitch desolving. If its hot go see your doc.

    Jamba Juice?

Good god Jamba Juice is all sugar and no protein! But you have to choose the lesser of evils. Enjoy yourself in as Vegas and return to healthy eating when you come home

Sleeve or Plication? Scared to death and nervous.

My mother had the plication and was starving all the time and didn't lose any weight. I've had 10 friends do the sleeve and only one had complications. He had a leak and has been on stints and feeding tubes for 3 months. That makes 20% complication rate for my friends. I am having a hard time going through with the surgery, even though I need it.

Wondering if surgery is right for me

I have asked the same question many times from this forum and from doctors. I like you, never lose weight. The only answers I get are from yo yo dieters. It is so frightening to consider a drastic surgery and have the same results as all the other things we have tried.
  22. my surgeon said " you will know! You won't have to ask. Hope he is right!
  23. You must find out if the surgeon has special training in bariatric surgery. It should be in their bio. Absolutely do not let a general surgeon without training work on you. All of them are general surgeons so can fix any complications. But if they aren't trained in bariatric s you are playing Russian roulette. I'm a physician and see all the complications, so should know
