Clothes for hospital and after
abridgie replied to Luvlvnlyfe5's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yoga pants are a must. I prefer anything with a drawl string so I can wear them longer. -
Readmitted to the hospital
abridgie replied to Houston17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found in the beginning warm liquids went down easier. I'm 4 months out and still takes longer to get cold liquids down. For some reason warm is easy -
meltdown at the grocery store!
abridgie replied to michelle4873's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was there. My husband stopped at McDonald's because he was hungry. I had to sit in the truck starving and weak and smell the chicken nuggets and French fries. I was so mad at him I didn't speak to him for a few days. I'm four months post op and now can go order his and the kids good and drive home it doesn't effect me now. -
Little worried about the lifting! I'm trying to pack up two houses to move in to our new one. Oh we'll hubby will just have to step up

My preop was only a week I got lucky but it was 4 to 5 shakes (HMR 800) for 7 days. I felt so drained

What do you look forward to post-op?
abridgie replied to ShayLeigh's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 4 months post op and I too looked forward to most things on your list. I'm proud to say last month we went to Disneyland and I rode every ride! Now I'm looking forward to a family portrait. Haven't done one since kids were little but I'm waiting until I reach goal for that. Water park ill go this summer. I won't feel all that comfortable but it's a step. My one biggest goal is I want VS panty & Bra set. Just one to say I fit! Lol -

I was so fatigued and didn't do anything much while on the shakes

Yes it's torture. Don't go to do your pre surgery weigh in at lunch time. On of the ladies was heating up her broccoli and I could have attacked her for it!

Worst pain including surgery was removal of the drainage tube. That sucker hurt. I was in 3 days 2 nights. 2nd day I wanted to wash private areas and my CNA wanted to give me a bed bath (former tech here) I refused. I made my husband give me a shower
-
I brought books, make up, my contacts, & iPad. I knew I would be up and running right after but sadly no. Rest and walk that's all I wanted to do.
-
Oh ya he wants u up
-
They took my cath out pretty quick. He had me up and walking a few hours after I woke up. The hardest part is nothing by mouth the entire day of surgery. Next day you get ice chips which by then is like heaven!
-
Well I use to could but not anymore. My pre op was like 2 pm then went for my spa I didn't get out of there until 5. They do take forever. I just wore a gown and a robe if you have a drainage tube u won't want it bothered. That thing is no joke. It hurt all the way up to my shoulder funniest part was when the nurse removed it my husband almost passed out. Congrats on getting approved!!!

Oh yes bowl movement or he orders help and it's not fun

How Soon Can I Resume My Pre-Sleeve Eating Lifestyle?!?!
abridgie replied to AmandaRaeLeo's topic in Rants & Raves
Did you really say Boston cream donut!!!! Lol I'm 4 months out. I have not cheated because why would I cheat myself. I do occasionally have whole wheat with added fiber with an egg white (1/2 piece 25 cal) but not daily I don't want the carbs. Some people honestly should have never had the surgery. It's not a quick fix. I will admit I sometime crave really really bad chocolate but I fight it because I'm fighting for my life -
