  1. I was given a ton of rules and after following this website, there is at least one person to negate everything I was told to do. Obviously if you haven't had problems, then it isn't a problem for you. I am only four days out from surgery and proceeding cautiously.
  2. I associate thrush with babies, but I think it's a yeast infection in your mouth. Makes the skin in your mouth white-ish.
  3. I second Vanessa's question. What do you mean "slider" foods?
  4. I don't know the answer to your question because I am a newbie...entering 4th day post op.
  5. I agree with the Brit, but I really think it's best to talk about it with your doctor first...which was your first impulse. My doctor is vehemently against ANY alcohol in the first year, but that's him. Maybe your doc will have a different opinion. At least if you discuss it, you will make an informed decision. The alcohol thread is just plain scary.
  6. I didn't realize the chest pain was gas. I thought it was connected to my horribly swallen throat. Everything burned in my throat. It was bad.
  7. So glad I am NOT the only one with this problem. Definitely need water after drinking it.
  8. I agree! That clear liquid diet was painful in its own way. At least now we can have things with milk, etc.
  9. I lost 20 lbs before surgery...7 of those pounds came off during the three day clear liquid diet. I am not getting on a scale until I see my doc at the 2-week post op check up. Just didn't 't want anyone to think I lost 20 lbs 3 days after surgery.
  10. And you can talk to us even if your surgery was different.
  11. Does anyone else get dry mouth from drinking PREMIXED isopure drinks?
  12. Yesterday (day 2) was actually harder than day 1 post op. My throat was so sore and my chest felt tight. Today I woke up feeling better and I have actually tried two foods: 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt with breakfast and 1/3 cup cream of tomato soup. My incisions are bothering me a little more, but overall, I feel so much better. Hoping the all the others sleeved on Monday are starting to feel a little better, too. I realize I have a long way to get to my protein goal, but at least I am on my way now.
