I had surgery 12-11-12 too! DOS I was 325 and now I am 252, so about 73 lbs down. I don't count calories...my nut said not to worry about it. I still feel like my restriction is pretty good although I can eat more than initially. I don't really eat many carbs or any sweets...no room after protein! lol

I think that we all know 'how' we got to be big and that is probably how it happened for her...again. The sleeve is not a cure for obesity, we are! The best thing to do is see this example and tell ourselves it can happen if we are not careful. I don't believe there is anything wrong with allowing ourselves a treat now and then but should we have ice cream/candy/alchohol or whatever our vice is daily? Nope, and if we do, the weight will come back.

That sounds good. I've been watching a lot of Bobby Dean's "Not My Mama's Meals" on food Network where he strips the fat and calories from some of Paula Dean's dishes and makes them healthier. He just did pot pie with wonton wrappers for the "crust".
I love Bobby Dean!

I told people the truth, but i'm not a good liar and I just don't feel right lying. I also have a few other girls at work who had it done and look amazing, everyone was pretty supportive of the one girl and there was some talk that the other girl was not big enough. She was about 195 I believe but only 4'11", so every time I hear someone say something I'm honest and say hey, you don't know what it's like and that is a lot of extra weight for such a tiny frame and a lot of times people take a second and think about it and start to get it. I have had people ask me why I did it and I am blunt, I was over 300 lbs (which a lot of people didn't know) and I couldn't breathe and was sick for most of the past year. I want to live for me and I am really not too concerned about what others think in general. I know that the most important people in my life are supportive and that is what I need. Best of luck to you in whatever you decide.

I don't necessarily know that I have cheated at all...I really believe that there are no off-limit foods but I have chosen to not eat sweets and any breads, I am kind of afraid of them though. I did actually have two bites of a samosa today and it was pretty darn good, just tried not to eat the bready edges! lol I really suck at exercise right now...I need warmer weather!

Just remember that this choice is yours, this is the rest of your life that you are making a decision about and you don't want to regret it! There are plenty of people on this site to show that the sleeve is what you make it. I believe if you are dedicated to changing your health and lifestyle that you can lose all the weight you need to with the sleeve. I kind of struggle with this at first because I do want to lose as much weight as possible but I also wanted the least restrictive surgery and also do not want the malabsorption problems that I see in many bypass patients. Whatever it is that you decide, best wishes to you on your journey!

Sometimes, you just have to choke em down but keep trying to find ones that work. Hang in there and eventually it will get better. I am 12 weeks out and it is kind of just part of your norm now.

haha This is so funny because I went to see my PA for my annual physical and in the past I may have called her some names that weren't very nice!? She was so nice to me now that I quit smoking and had surgery! She seemed very impressed with the changes...it might be a little frustrating to see a 300 plus pound smoker for breathing problems on a regular basis? lol Anyway, I am giving her another chance now and I am also feeling way better about myself!

I had something similar to a cold and they still did surgery...my PA said that usually doesn't stop them.

Wow, that's awesome! Just imagine what a year will do? Good luck on your journey!

I love bald men! I think it's super sexy (just don't tell my hubby!). I think there are some men who just can't pull it off but the majority of bald men are just sexy and unfortunately I have to agree with a prior poster and say that the ones who know they look good are even sexier (even if I don't always like the cockiness!) I will also agree with prior posters and say that you pull it off well.

I chew spearmint gum when I drink my Water now and that seems to help for some reason. I have been eating baby bel light cheeses for Snacks along with turkey bites or pepperoni bites or some kind of Jerky. I sometimes have Protein Bars but they make me feel sick sometimes because they are so sweet. I am really into the main course muffin meals right now, last week it was taco cups and this week lasagna cups and there are more I want to try. They are the perfect sleever size, you can find the recipes at emilybites.com. (I also hate cooking so this allows me to make enough for days which is nice and the hubby likes them too) Breakfast is hard for me because I don't care much foreggs anymore but oatmeal isn't too bad. Hope some of the ideas helped! Good luck

Congratulations on your surprise! I don't have any first hand experience but after 6 months you should be able to provide adequate nutrition for you and baby and there are women who have gotten pregnant much earlier. I think your best bet is to ask your doctor to speak with a nutritionist who can give you some ideas of what to do with your diet during pregnancy and again how to adjust post pregnancy to keep the weight coming off then. I wish you the best!

This is soo annoying and I also think it's super a annoying that I can wear a size 22 to 26! Women's clothes are crazy! I also have tops from 2x to 4x that fit...sometimes I just don't look at sizes in my closet and just try things on. :-)
