  1. Small world. I plan to be smaller in it' date=' too. How did you like the hotel Bla-Jay? I'm surrounded by alot of good people on the night shift. Ya have to be a little wacko to work these hours. I see very interesting things. This hospital has an extensive bariatric center. This, alone has been my biggest motivator. I get up to Mercy on occasion, living in Norton Shores. Very nice system there, too.[/quote']

Lol 3rd isn't for everyone! I actually loved blodgett, my nurses were great, very encouraging and positive! I also love the single rooms, I was there for a week a little over a year ago and that was a good experience as well. I grew up in norton shores! Definitely a small world!

  2. Dr. James Foote has ties to North Ottawa Community Hospital' date=' but does surgery at Blodgett in East Grand Rapids as well. Ironically, I work night shift at Blodgett, but chose NOCH as it is much closer to home. My co-workers in the Security department would LOVE it if I spent the night at Blodgett.... I wouldn't get any rest and they'd probably tie me to the bed!!![/quote']

Oh ok, that's very interesting. I had surgery at blodgett and I work night shift at mercy in Muskegon. Lok

  3. That's awesome I am so HAPPY for you. How has your transition been? Any complications or words of wisdom? If you don't mind me asking what was your presurgical weight? I am at 360 so I have a long way to go :(

My pre-op weight was 325 and now I am 249. I have had a relatively easy recovery/transition, no complications. I just don't tolerate certain foods and have been feeling my restriction a lot. As far as words of wisdom, follow what the doc's/nut's say! Lol don't rush yourself into eating your old food choices, we fo need to change these to be successful. Check out the world according to eggface blog for shake recipes and for some healthy recipes for later on. If you have any question s, feel free to ask specifics. ;-)

  4. My husband was super supportive before surgery, helooked up the surgery on-line and learned about it. He and I both agreed that it would be best for me. I have to say that now that it is done, things are different. I don't want to say that he is unsupportive necessarily but he just doesn't realize a lot of my restrictions. He bought me a bottle yesterday (super nice) but it's a straw one and I can't drink out of a straw. He said oh I'll make rice for us the other day...I can't eat rice. I guess he just forgets a lot but sometimes it drives me crazy!? It makes me feel like he doesn't really care.
