Stef got a reaction from Sydney Susan in How many days
Six surgeries in one day? That's quite an assembly line!

Stef got a reaction from Sheraton1 in Relaxing on the 30/30 rule?
I think if you trusted your surgeon enough to cut you open and rearrange your innards you should follow their post-op advice. Just my opinion.

Stef got a reaction from LipstickLady in can you put ointment on incisions?
If they were glued you shouldn't put anything on them until the glue falls off.

Stef got a reaction from lbrown_1982 in protein shakes make me gag. HELP!
I feel for you, really. I tried every powder I could find and they ALL made me gag. There's just something about that whey protein smell that turns my stomach. The only Protein shake that worked for me is Premier Protein pre-mixed shakes. 30g protein, 160 calories, 5g carbs. I wouldn't have been able to have the surgery if it weren't for them.

Guess who's at goal? (thumbs in) THIS GUY!
235 lbs. Amazing. It's been on my bucket list for so long that it just never seemed possible. This is like my 19- or 20-year old weight. Pre-dating my wife. Pre-college graduation. Just amazing.
Now, to decide...go a little lower or stabilize? Dietician is recommending going 10 lbs. more, as I'm technically still "overweight" by BMI chart, and my clothing goal is a size 38 pants, which I'm noooooot quite into yet. So, I think I'll aim for 225 and then stabilize from there.

There's nothing wrong with cheeseburgers, especially if you have them with some popcorn and wash them down with a nice cocktail.

I don't quite understand the logic of pushing the envelope here. I'm too afraid to screw up my new tummy or worse end up in the emergency room, inconveniencing my family, or worse. I did this to win the battle with food, not to try to figure out how to cheat as soon as possible. I'm with you, I don't get it.

Stef reacted to MsVictorious1020 in Old Habits Die Hard...
Ok just a vent. I'm really bothered by endless posts of people going against doctor's orders and/or cheating the stages. Then they look for "support" in their decision. When you try to offer actual support and discourage the bad behavior/choice all of a sudden you become the "negative" one. VSG is a tool but not the miracle cure. We need to work with our tool to make it work for us. Ignoring surgeons and nutritionists orders will only lead to some sort of failure along the road. If we knew what was best we wouldn't have needed the surgery to begin with. Why undergo such a major surgery if you're not willing to undergo the life changes associated with it?

Once your staple line has healed, carbonation will have no effect on it.
