  1. It's very much a "Just Do It" thing for me too. I don't look forward to it, I don't like it when I'm there, I don't like the extra laundry, I don't like losing an hour out of every day, but I still go 5 days a week. Every Week. No exceptions. I doubt I'll ever like going to the gym, but I DO like what it's doing for me. 91 pounds down, off my BP meds, blood sugar back into normal ranges, energy is up and my clothes sizes keep on getting smaller. That's why I keep going. Just Do It!
  2. Bariatric Advantage Calcium Citrate Chewy Bites. 15 calories each and they come in half a dozen different flavors. You can get them at Amazon or directly from BA.
  3. 90 pounds gone! Unfortunately, I think half of that is hair. There's a kitten's worth in the shower every time I wash my hair!
  4. If you're Going. To. Go. Nuts. because you can't drink then I think you need another type of support group.
  5. Who gives a rat's ass what she thinks. I didn't do this for her.
  6. And even better... Just talked to the doc and I can discontinue my Amlodipine AND Metformin! \m/ \m/
  7. Down 85 pounds and 5 pants sizes so far.
  8. Six surgeries in one day? That's quite an assembly line!
  9. Susan, was your surgery laparoscopic or open?
  10. It's definitely not the new normal for me. I vomited once post-op and it was completely my fault because I ate too fast.
  11. I think if you trusted your surgeon enough to cut you open and rearrange your innards you should follow their post-op advice. Just my opinion.
  12. If they were glued you shouldn't put anything on them until the glue falls off.
  13. Look here: http://www.premierprotein.com/where-to-buy/
  14. Yup. I ignore that too. I don't change my target numbers just because I went to the gym. Like Fiddleman, I might have a shake after I get back from the gym, but not if it knocks me over my target for the day.
  15. Nope, my crystal ball is out for repairs. Barring complications, most people spend one or two nights in the hospital depending on their health and what time of day they hit the table. Your surgeon would be able to tell you more about your particular situation.
  16. I feel for you, really. I tried every powder I could find and they ALL made me gag. There's just something about that whey protein smell that turns my stomach. The only Protein shake that worked for me is Premier Protein pre-mixed shakes. 30g protein, 160 calories, 5g carbs. I wouldn't have been able to have the surgery if it weren't for them.
  17. Two weeks seems pretty early to me.
  18. That stuff is like crack. We would get a dozen boxes of that every year from different vendors and people swooped down on it like vultures. It was not pretty.
  19. There's nothing wrong with cheeseburgers, especially if you have them with some popcorn and wash them down with a nice cocktail.
  20. Didn't have a drain.
  21. Ugh. Do you really want to look like Joan Rivers? She looks like more like a Muppet than a human being these days.
  22. I hope you're wearing your nomex undies, because you're about to get flamed.
