Ugh. Do you really want to look like Joan Rivers? She looks like more like a Muppet than a human being these days.

I hope you're wearing your nomex undies, because you're about to get flamed.

    Protien Shakes

Yup, still using them every day. I wouldn't have been able to have the surgery without them.

    Returning to work?

Possibly. I'm a network engineer and work out of my home office. I had surgery on a Tuesday morning, was discharged Wednesday afternoon and was doing some work Thursday evening even though I took 2 weeks off. Friday, I was up and about playing tour guide for my friend who flew out to be with me for my surgery. That being said, I didn't have to deal with driving or commuting and could lounge around in sweats and a t-shirt so that certainly makes things easier. I've talked with others in my program and had surgery the same time I did and my situation is definitely an outlier. Most people needed more time to get up and around than I did. So, while it's certainly possible that you could be ready to go back into the office after three days, I wouldn't necessarily bank on that.

    Living with a gourmet chef

Can we bribe her to cater the next support meeting?
  6. As of this morning, 75 pounds worth of me has left the building!
  7. It was $24 for a case of 18 last week. They were on a pallet near the pharmacy at my Costco.
  8. Once your staple line has healed, carbonation will have no effect on it.

    Me too!
  10. My sole regret is not having done it sooner.
  11. The only protein drinks I have been able to keep down are the Premier Nutrition chocolate shakes. I have one every morning for breakfast. Just picked up 4 cases from Costco this weekend.

    Calcium citrate chews?

    Bariatric Advantage Chewy Bites.
  13. Both are major, yes. Your body needs water to help metabolize fat and you need to exercise to increase your metabolic rate.
  14. Are you exercising? Getting in enough water?
  15. No, your stomach doesn't shrink while you sleep. I usually have a protein shake for breakfast since eggs still don't sit quite right with me so I haven't noticed any early morning restriction issues. It usually takes me about 10 minutes to drink an 11oz shake.
  16. Saw my PCP yesterday and my HbA1c is out of diabetic range so I had my Metformin cut in half. If things keep progressing this way, I should be off it in another couple of months!
  17. Why do you think you should have lost more weight? Seems like you're doing pretty good so far.

    Any seattle sleevers ?

I haven't been to any support group meetings yet but I'm planning to go to the Saturday one in April. I've got some blender bottles and some Protein powder/shakes I'm not using that I'm going to offer to whoever wants them.

    Any seattle sleevers ?

Hello fellow Swede! They've actually got two support group meetings a month (2nd Saturday 10-noon and 4th Tuesday 6:30-8pm).
  20. I'm not really sure what you're looking for. The mechanics of digestion are the same pre and post sleeve.
  21. Just got taken off my blood pressure meds. No more hydrochlorothiazide for meeeeeeeee!
  22. Bike shops and outdoor stores like REI carry them but you can go to their website (polarbottle.com) and click "Find a Store" at the top of the page to see if anyone near you has them. I just get mine from Amazon.

    $27,385.95

Yowza. Before the insurance company's (BCBS PPO) discount, mine was $11,156.25 but my cost was $0.00. The disparity in charges from program to program is both amazing and very befuddling.
  24. Water is my biggest issue right now. I'm always fighting to get enough in. What helps for me is to keep a couple of 24oz insulated Polar bottles in the fridge and carry one around wherever I go. Cold water just seems to go down easier so having a ready supply on hand is a big help.
