    successful sleevers?

Thanks for info I wish you the best. I will check on meds. I would really like to know the stats on the number who regain and those who maintain.

    successful sleevers?

The point is that you are 9 weeks out. I was so happy at that point too. I had my surgery in 2013. Each of the people I mentioned did great at first. It's the long term that I don't want anyone to be disillusioned by. It is possible to regain. I tried very hard to not put the weight back on, however, it seemed to return actually quicker than it came off.

Don't be fooled it is not going to be any easier after surgery than before. I know four people who had surgery before I did. All have regained the weight.....and so have I. I have not gained all but most of the 80 lbs I lost. If one does not deal with the reason they over eat the problem still exist. I had my surgery in Ashland Kentucky and they did not have afollow up program. They said call if you need us. That was it. I think extensive psychological counseling is needed to change food addiction just like any other substance abuse. I wish you well, however, gastric sleeve is not the answer. All I got out of the surgery is loss of bowel function.

    Leg lymphedema?

I had gastric sleeve in 2013. I also have very large legs. I carry a lot of weight in my hips also. I lost 80 lbs. after my surgery. My legs did stink. I could wear normal size boots. Really felt great. However, I started to regain the weight about two and a half years out. I have since put back on 60 lbs. I am now seeing a nut and a counselor in an attempt to get the weight back off. It felt so wonderful to be 80 lbs. lighter. I am am emotional eater and I failed to fix my head as well as my stomach. Good luck.
  6. My first year was great 80 lbs gone felt great. I remember going into my closet and nothing fit. Best feeling ever. My second year the weight started to creep up and I felt out of control. Had a lot of personal trials..... husband retired, i have been retired for a few years from my career as a teacher. We traveled. We ate. We lived the life we had dreamed of. Slowly but surely the weight returned. Now I am almost as heavy as I was before surgery. Yes, it can happen. I lost my restriction. I am able to eat just about like I did per-surgery. I sometimes wonder if I can ever lose this weight yet again. I did not fix my emotional issues even though I did briefly do counseling. I have an addictive personality and I literally went from eating to shopping. When that got old and I had a house full of junk I went back to eating and using food as a coping mechanism. Every night I go to sleep thinking tomorrow will be different. Yet by 9:30-10:00 the next day same old thing. I am always going to start tomorrow. I know what I am doing, but I really don't know how to stop. Guess I just have not found a replacement for food. Sorry for the long rant but sadly regain can and will happen for some people.

    Needing Motivation

I had a similar situation however I have gained about 50 lbs back and just feel so defeated. I kept my weight off for almost three years. Then my husbands career ended a month later we found out he had cancer. Then cancer surgery. Thru it all I started to use food to cope and quickly regained so much. In our area our program does not have much of a follow up program. It is all about getting you to the point of surgery. After that you are basically on you own. I am starting a new program this Friday with a new nut to help me get back on track. This is sad never thought I would be this heavy again. Dealing with obesity for a life time......surgery is not a cure-all. I have to learn to deal with stress in some other way.

    Weight gain after 2-3 years?

I had vgs in May 2013 and quickly lost 80 lbs. sad to say in June of last year I started to regain my weight and have since regained 50 lbs. feel so defeated.
  9. I had no problem at all with surgery. No sore throat at all and not really any pain after surgery. My problem occurred three years after gastric sleeve. I started to use food for comfort after some changes in my life and now have regained a lot of my weight back. Not the fault of the procedure. My fault. Using food as a crutch for dealing with stress.

    Before and after!

    Wow that's great. Life changing!!!
  11. Sound good. I have read about resetting pouch. Mine is emotional eating and to get back on track I am seeing a psychologist starting Friday. Hope and pray I can regain control.
  12. I was sleeved May 30, 2013. I lost 80 lbs and had never really had any problem with weight gain until last year. Then my husband retired and a month later found he had prostate cancer then successful surgery. I eat when stressed and surprise..... Before I realized it I had regained 40 lbs. Now I plan every nite to get back on track and fail before 10:00 each day. So disappointed with myself.
  13. I had the sleeve two years ago and am now regaining weight. I am a compulsive over eater and would probably regain with either. I just find it difficult to control grazing.
  14. I tried it and ended up with a huge ulcer. Just has a scope last week and it was determined. I know that's what caused it!! So high in caffine
