hello everyone, I went thru the classes and weigh in's for 6 months at magee. there is also a psyc test there and meetings with the nutritionist. as far as pre op tests go. it does depend on your health. myself i had to have a stress test and that was all. the first time i went to the surgeon's office for the consult that is the weight they used too go forward for the 6 months stuff. they review all of that. and the nutritionists review and the psyc eval and then they will schedule your surgery. my doctor's name is carol mcclosky. she is very nice. you might want to check on DR. Hamad. when i was looking for a doctor she was only doing the gastric bypass unless she does the band now. something to check out. good luck in your journey.:thumbup:

indio girl55, wow i came on the website to look for support and there you are. you have done a great job. congrats to you. i am sooo bumbed out. i was banded 1-11-08. i lost 14 pounds,then gained 13 pounds then lost 14 pounds now back to gaining 13 pounds. i have had 1 fill .6 in 4cc band. i called to get another appointment for a fill but i have to wait till the 16th of the month. i do not eat bread. comes back out. not too much beef either. i guess my question is as far as portion size goes what should we be taking in. at first i could only do 1/4-1/2 cup as a serving. thanks in advance for your help.

ok....count me in too ... i started this month out by doing the march of dimes 3 mile walk.. i wasn't too tired when we were done..

i have not lost alot of weight but i am feeling good. i have only had 1 fill and that was 3 weeks ago. i have another appointment next tues. how are you doing? i bought a treadmill and i just received jillian michaels dvd exercise tapes.

hang in there. i have not lost much since my surgery date. i had my first fill 2 weeks ago. i go back in 2 weeks. are you walking ? sometimes that is easier than exercising. keep us posted. you are not alone

you will love this, i went to subway had 1/2 chicken wrap thought all was well... wrong.. made it to the door and started the sliming and then i got hickups that is a great combo. my husband said i was spitting like i had chew in my mouth. even by the time we drove to the shopping center i still had the hickups and i kept spitting on the ground cuz i just couldn't swallow my own spit. at the time it was a pain but when i look back on it i just have to laugh, i am sure the people in the parkin lot didn't know what to think. just thought i would share

well ladies , i am not doing very well this month with the exercise. it has been a busy month so far at work. i can't get to the gym so today i bought a treadmill for the house and i ordered jillian michael's dvd's. i love her on the biggest loser. so hopefully when i get them it will get my butt in gear. hope everyone is doing well
